Hallgeir Pedersen
Hallgeir Pedersen (born 24 May 1973 in Tromsø, Norway) is a Norwegian jazz guitarist, well known for his Thorgeir Stubø, Wes Montgomery and Coltrane inspired bop guitar performances and recordings like ''West Coast Blues'' (2002) with his own trio. Career Pedersen was raised in Øksfjord, a small village in Finnmark, northern Norway, and started early playing heavy-metal guitar, inspired by guitarists like Ritchie Blackmore, Ronni Le Tekrø, and Yngwie Malmsteen. The latter led him to study the music of Johann Sebastian Bach, and classical guitar studies on the music program at ''Holstbakken videregående skole'' in Alta (1989–92). During this period he became interested in bebop, and he was introduced to the work of the renowned Norwegian jazz guitarist Thorgeir Stubø (1943–1986). Bol (band)
BOL (initiated 1995 in Trondheim, Norway) is a Norwegian experimental jazz and electronica band in a quartet/trio format, known for performances and releases in the borderline between jazz, noise and electronica. BOL consisted originally of Tone Åse vocals and musical director, Ståle Storløkken (keyboards and piano), Tor Yttredal (saxophone) and Tor Haugerud (drums). The new trio format (Yttredal left the band around 2000) they made (mainly Storløkken) the commissioned work «Interference harmony» for ''Trondheim Kammerfestival'' 2003. Jan Erik Kongshaug
Jan Erik Kongshaug (4 July 1944 – 5 November 2019) was a Norwegian sound engineer, jazz guitarist, and composer. Career Kongshaug was born in Trondheim, the son of guitarist John Kongshaug. Store Norske Leksikon (in Norwegian) During his childhood and adolescence, he began to play the accordion (1950), guitar (1958) and bass (1964). Kongshaug gained his examen artium in 1963, and trained in electronics at the Trondheim Technical School in 1967. Then he worked for the Arne Bendiksen Studio (1967–1974) and Talent Studio (1974–79) in Oslo, and undertook some jobs in New York. In 1984, he founded his own recording studio, Rainbow Studio in Oslo and evolved into being one of the grand masters of Sound engineering. Rainbow Studio
A rainbow is a meteorological phenomenon that is caused by reflection, refraction and dispersion of light in water droplets resulting in a spectrum of light appearing in the sky. It takes the form of a multicoloured circular arc. Rainbows caused by sunlight always appear in the section of sky directly opposite the Sun. Rainbows can be full circles. However, the observer normally sees only an arc formed by illuminated droplets above the ground, and centered on a line from the Sun to the observer's eye. In a primary rainbow, the arc shows red on the outer part and violet on the inner side. Kenneth Earl Burrell (born July 31, 1931) is an American jazz guitarist known for his work on numerous top jazz labels: Prestige, Blue Note, Verve, CTI, Muse, and Concord. Konrad Kaspersen
Konrad Kaspersen (born 1 March 1948 in Tromsø, Norway) is a Norwegian jazz musician (upright bass). Career Kaspersen contributed in Kurt Samuelsen's band, including Henning Gravrok, Kjell Bartholsen and Thorgeir Stubø in the late 70's and early 80's, showing up on scenes like Moldejazz. Throughout the 80's He was also involved in some projects in other genres, as with folk singers such as Trygve Henrik Hoff and Tove Karoline Knutsen, and blues with Chris Lyngedal. As jazz musician he has also toured with Knut Riisnæs, Odd Riisnæs, Per Husby, Øystein Norvoll Quintet and with Rikskonsertene. Trond Sverre Hansen
Trond Sverre Hansen (born 27 January 1964 in Narvik, Norway) is a Norwegian jazz musician (drums). He is the son of jazz trombonist, Viggo Hansen and is considered one of the most prominent Norwegian drummers in the bebop genre. Career Hansen debuted at the age of 14 with the legendary north-Norwegian guitarist Thorgeir Stubø, and participated in his quartet (1981–82). In the early 1980s he also played within "Samasjyen" in Harstad, and was, in other words a very young contributor to Narviks vital jazz scene at this time. NRK P2 is one of three main, nationwide radio channels produced by the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK). Its current format – focusing on news and current affairs, debate, analysis, culture, science, and society – is the result of the NRK radio channel reform initiated in 1993 by radio director Tor Fuglevik. Øystein Norvoll
Øystein Norvoll (born 26 June 1954 in Tromsø, Norway) is a Norwegian jazz musician (guitar), who early was interested in and a winner of the "Gjett på Jazz" (1973). He is married to the vocalist Marit Sandvik and they gave birth to the artist Dagny Norvoll Sandvik (b. 1990). Career Norvoll was early inspired by the West Coast jazz guitarists Barney Kessel and Jim Hall.
