Halley (film)
''Halley'' is a 2012 Mexican horror film directed by Sebastián Hofmann and produced by Julio Chavezmontes and Jaime Romandia. It premiered at the 2012 Morelia International Film Festival, and later showed at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival and was part of the Hivos Tiger Awards Competition of the IFF Rotterdam. The film follows Alberto, a night guard with a decomposing body who decides to withdraw from the world. Plot Alberto is dead and can no longer hide it. Make-up and perfume can no longer conceal his quickly decomposing body. Dismayed, he decides to withdraw from the world. But before surrendering to his living death, Alberto forms an unusual friendship with Luly, the manager of the 24-hour gym where he works as a night guard. Sebastián Hofmann
Sebastián Hofmann (born 1981) is a Mexican visual artist and filmmaker whose productions have been presented in the film festivals of Cannes, Rotterdam, Locarno, Sundance, San Sebastian, among others. He is also the co-founder of the prestigious production and distribution company Piano. His work as a visual artist has been presented in galleries and museums in New York, Sidney, Rio de Janeiro, Athens, Berlin, Santiago, Pasadena, Mexico City and Prague. Career Sebastián Hofmann has a B.F.A. with honors from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. In 2010 he shot his first short film, ''Jaime Tapones'', the main topic of which inspired his first feature film, ''Halley''. The International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) is an annual film festival held at the end of January in various locations in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
