Halifax Wyatt
Michael Thomas Halifax Wyatt (26 April 1829 – 5 March 1909) was an English people, English first-class cricketer. Born at North Wraxall in Wiltshire, Wyatt studied at Exeter College, Oxford. A member of the Oxford University Cricket Club, Wyatt made his debut in first-class cricket for the university in 1850 against the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) at Magdalen Ground, Oxford. He made three further first-class appearances for the university, the last coming in 1851 against Cambridge University Cricket Club, Cambridge University at Lord's. He made two further appearances in first-class cricket for the MCC against Cambridge University and Oxford University in 1858. Playing a total of six first-class matches, he scored 78 runs at an batting average (cricket), average of 9.75, with a highest score of 17 not out. He died at Westminster in March 1909. North Wraxall
North Wraxall is a village and civil parish in Wiltshire, England. The village is about west of Chippenham, just north of the A420 road between Chippenham and Bristol. The parish includes the village of Ford and the hamlets of Upper Wraxall, Mountain Bower and The Shoe. The 2011 Census recorded the parish population as 401. The Fosse Way Roman road crosses the parish as a minor road. There was a Roman villa at Truckle Hill. Danks Down and Truckle Hill is a biological Site of Special Scientific Interest, as is Out Woods. The name of the community originated from Wroxall, "derived from 'wroc' either meaning buzzard or a personal name and 'healh' seen as an angle or corner". Early history A Roman villa stood in this area in the 2nd century. The site has been excavated on at least three occasions, firstly by one of the Scrope family of landowners in 1852 and most recently in 2010.
