''Half a Life'' (french: Mourir à 30 ans) is a 1982 film directed by Romain Goupil, which won the Caméra d'Or and Award of the Youth (French film) at the Cannes Film Festival, and the César Award for Best Debutbr> Plot The film is a biographical black-and-white documentary about Michel Recanati, a militant leader during the May 1968 riots in Paris. It tells the story of two friends through the left-wing groups in Paris between 1966 and 1978 when Michel goes missing and it is later discovered that he committed suicide. It is a personal tale as well as an in-depth look at the political scene in France during those years. It also documents the history of the CAL ighschool Student Action Committeeand the LCR Revolutionary Communist League . Henri Weber
Henri Weber (23 June 1944 – 26 April 2020) was a French politician and Member of the European Parliament for the north-west of France. He was a member of the Socialist Party (PS), which is part of the Party of European Socialists, and sat on the European Parliament's Committee on Culture and Education. Weber was born in Leninabad (now Khujand), Tajikistan, Soviet Union, in a Soviet labor camp, on a hospital ship moored on the banks of the Syr-Daria river, to Polish Jewish parents who had fled from the town of Chrzanow, Galicia, during the Nazi 1939 invasion of Poland, and who later immigrated to France from Poland. His father was a watchmaker. Beginning in May 1968, a period of civil unrest occurred throughout France, lasting some seven weeks and punctuated by demonstrations, general strikes, as well as the occupation of universities and factories. Trotskyism is the political ideology and branch of Marxism developed by Ukrainian-Russian revolutionary Leon Trotsky and some other members of the Left Opposition and Fourth International.
