Halberstadt G.I
The Halberstadt G.I was a German prototype heavy bomber built by Halberstädter Flugzeugwerke during World War I. Design It was a two-seat biplane equipped with two Mercedes D.III engines. The aircraft's armament consisted of one or two Parabellum MG14 machine guns mounted in the rear cockpit on a flexible mount. Maximum bomb load was . Halberstädter Flugzeugwerke or Halberstadt was a German aircraft manufacturer. It was formed on 9 April 1912 under the name ''Deutsche Bristol Werke Flugzeug-Gesellschaft mbH'' in Halberstadt, Province of Saxony. History The British-German joint venture initially produced planes according to the system by the Bristol Aeroplane Company, British and Colonial Aeroplane Company, Ltd such as Bristol Boxkites and Bristol Prier monoplanes, but soon expanded into their own developments. In September 1913 the company was renamed ''Halberstädter Flugzeugwerke GmbH''. Heavy bombers are bomber aircraft capable of delivering the largest payload of air-to-ground weaponry (usually bombs) and longest range (takeoff to landing) of their era. Parabellum MG14
The Parabellum MG 14 was a 7.92 mm caliber World War I machine gun built by Deutsche Waffen und Munitionsfabriken. It was a redesign of the Maschinengewehr 08 machine gun (itself an adaptation of the Maxim gun) system intended for use on aircraft and zeppelins. Like the earlier Vickers machine gun, it used a toggle action that broke upwards rather than downwards, the opposite way to the MG 08, making for a much more compact receiver. The fusee spring was replaced with an internal spring design, the breech block was completely different and the spent cartridges dropped out the bottom of the receiver, rather than being ejected forward through a hole under the breech from the receiver. The Friedrichshafen G.III (factory designation FF.45) was a heavy bomber designed and manufactured by ''Flugzeugbau Friedrichshafen''. They were used by the German Imperial Air Service during World War I for tactical and limited strategic bombing operations.
