Voice acting in Japan is an industry where actors provide voice-overs as characters or narrators in media including anime, video games, audio dramas, commercials, and dubbing for non-Japanese films and television programs. In Japan, and actresses have devoted fan clubs due to a crossover with the idol industry, and some fans may watch a show merely to hear a particular voice actor. Many voice actors have concurrent singing careers and have also crossed over to live-action media. There are around 130 voice acting schools in Japan. Broadcast companies and talent agencies often have their own troupes of vocal actors. ''Eureka Seven'', known in Japan as , is a 2005 Japanese anime series created by Bones. The series was directed by Tomoki Kyoda, with series composition by Dai Satō, character designs by Kenichi Yoshida and music by Naoki Satō. ''Eureka Seven'' tells the story of Renton Thurston and the outlaw group Gekkostate, his relationship with the enigmatic mecha pilot Eureka, and the mystery of the Coralians. Glass Mask
is a Japanese shōjo manga series written and illustrated by Suzue Miuchi, serialized in ''Hana to Yume'' from January 1976, and collected in 49 tankōbon volumes as of October 2012. The story has also been adapted into anime and a live-action television series. As of 2006, the collected volumes had sold 50 million copies in Japan, making it the second best-selling shōjo manga ever. The title refers poetically to the mask of faces that actors wear - while expressing emotions that are not their own, the mask they wear (their acting) is as fragile as glass. If the actors are distracted, their mask will "break" and show on stage the actors' true feelings. After not publishing a new chapter of the story for more than two years, Miuchi re-launched ''Glass Mask'' in Hakusensha's ''Bessatsu Hana to Yume'' magazine in July 2008. Grenadier (manga)
is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Sōsuke Kaise, published by Kadokawa Shoten's '' Shōnen Ace'' in 2003. The manga was adapted into an animated television series in 2004. The anime series aired on WOWOW from October 14, 2004 to January 13, 2005, totaling twelve episodes. Plot ''Grenadier'' follows the travels of Rushuna Tendō, an expert gunfighter, and the samurai Yajirō Kojima, a mercenary swordsman. A Senshi or "Enlightened" is one who is skilled to some degree in the use of guns. The series begins with Yajirō and a small army of samurai launching a frontal assault against a fort in an attempt to free their lord, which was taken over by a group of gunners. The assault fails. Yajirō orders a retreat, but is spotted by the enemy and chased to a small cliff, which he jumps off of to escape. Moon Phase
is a Japanese manga series by Keitarō Arima. The manga was serialized in the monthly manga magazine ''Comic Gum'' from March 2000 to March 27, 2008. The series spanned sixteen manga volumes that were published by Wani Books in Japan. The manga series was later adapted into a 25 episode anime television series by Shaft, and aired on TV Tokyo from October 5, 2004 to March 29, 2005. An additional OVA episode dubbed "Episode 26" was later released only on DVD on February 22, 2006. Moon Phase is about a young vampire girl named Hazuki and a Japanese freelance photographer Kouhei Morioka whom Hazuki attempts to make into her servant. While there are differences in adaptations, the main theme of Kouhei protecting Hazuki from harm is present in both.
