Haivrit
Haivrit ( he, העברית) are an Israeli rock band, composed of Oron Sherri (vocals, guitar, bass), Eran Peretz (vocals, bass, guitar) and Amit Arbel (drums, keyboards). They started out in 2004 as "The Blush" and later changed their name to "Blush and Lure". They mostly sang in English and played shows in clubs in Tel Aviv and also in Europe. Notably, they played in a Pavement tribute show in Tel Aviv in 2004 and recorded a Hebrew version of "Waiting for the Miracle" for an unofficial Leonard Cohen tribute collection, which wasn't published due to copyright restrictions. They also recorded a complete album of songs in English, but didn't release it. In late 2005 they changed their name to Haivrit ("The Hebrew") and started performing completely new songs in Hebrew only. Pavement (band)
Pavement is an American indie rock band that formed in Stockton, California, in 1989. For most of their career, the group consisted of Stephen Malkmus (vocals and guitar), Scott Kannberg (guitar and vocals), Mark Ibold (bass), Steve West (drums) and Bob Nastanovich (percussion and vocals). Initially conceived as a recording project, the band at first avoided press or live performances, while attracting considerable underground attention with their early releases. Gradually evolving into a more polished band, Pavement recorded five full-length albums and ten EPs over the course of their decade-long career, though they disbanded with some acrimony in 1999 as the members moved on to other projects. In 2010, they undertook a well-received reunion tour, with another international tour currently ongoing in 2022 and 2023. Leonard Cohen
Leonard Norman Cohen (September 21, 1934November 7, 2016) was a Canadian singer-songwriter, poet and novelist. Channel 24 ( he, ערוץ 24), formally known as Music 24 ( he, מוזיקה 24), is an Israeli free-to-air television channel owned by Telad, which was launched on July 20, 2003 and broadcasts music videos by Israeli musicians. Apart from music videos, the channel has different music-related shows, including interviews with musicians, live performances, music-oriented talk shows and programs which are dedicated to a specific genre of music. The channel's editor-in-chief, Yoav Kutner, has been one of the most influential figures in the Israeli rock scene. For more than 20 years he has been instrumental in introducing new singers, both Israeli and foreign, in his radio shows (which he quit in order to head the TV channel) to generations of Israeli music fans.
