''My Son Shall Be Armenian'' (Original French title: ''Mon fils sera arménien'') is a 2004 Canadian documentary by Hagop Goudsouzian, who travels to Armenia and Syria with five other members of Montreal's Armenian community who lost relatives in the Armenian genocide, to speak with survivors. Patrick Masbourian
Patrick Masbourian is a Canadian coordinator and director. He was born on December 4, 1969 in the United States to Armenian parents. He began his television career while participating in ''La Course destination monde'', a transmission of the Télévision de Radio-Canada to give a chance to young reporters and cameramen to prepare international reports. Masbourian won the 3rd prize in the 1990–1991 season, in the competition Europe-Asia. He joined Marc Labrèche program ''La Fin du monde est à 7 heures'' in 1997 and continued to co-host until 2000 when he became presenter of "La revanche des Nerdz", a daily program on ''Z-Télé'' for until 2006 when François-Étienne Paré replaced him. In 2004, he participated in the Armenian genocide documentary ''My Son Shall Be Armenian''. Armenian Canadians (Western Armenian: գանատահայեր, Eastern Armenian: կանադահայեր, ''kanadahayer''; french: Arméno-Canadiens) are citizens and permanent residents of Canada who have total or partial Armenian ancestry. According to the 2016 Canadian Census they number almost 64,000, while independent estimates claim around 80,000 Canadians of Armenian origin, with the highest estimates reaching 100,000. Though significantly smaller than the Armenian American community, the formation of both underwent similar stages beginning in the late 19th century and gradually expanding in the latter 20th century and beyond.
