Hagerstown Jr.-Sr. High School is a High School located in Hagerstown, Indiana, United States. It serves the Nettle Creek School Corporation, which also includes the towns of Economy and Greensfork, both of which had their own schools until they were merged into Hagerstown. Athletics The Hagerstown Tigers wear purple, gold, and white and participate as members of the Tri-Eastern Conference along with Wayne County schools: Centerville, Northeastern, and Lincoln. The Tigers are host to the Wayne County boys' and girls' varsity basketball tournaments, along with the area boys' basketball sectional for the 2A level. Tri-Eastern Conference (IHSAA)
The Tri-Eastern Conference is a nine-member IHSAA-Sanctioned Athletic Conference formed by five schools in 1962. The current nine teams are located in the counties of Henry, Randolph, Union, and Wayne. History The conference was formed in 1962, with Cambridge City, Centerville, Knightstown, Liberty, and Union City. All five are current members of the conference, albeit two have different names through consolidation (Cambridge City became Lincoln in 1965, and Liberty became Short in 1965, then Union County in 1973). Brookville (now Franklin County) and Hagerstown joined in 1966 to bring the membership to 7, however Knightstown would leave in 1968 (with Brookville following suit in 1973). Northeastern High School is a small high school located near Fountain City in Wayne County, Indiana, USA. Founded in 1967, it serves the communities of Fountain City, Webster, Whitewater and Williamsburg. Athletics Northeastern participates in the Tri-Eastern Conference of which it has been a member since 1974. Previously, it was a member of the Mid-Eastern Conference from 1967 to 1974. Ralph Teetor
Ralph Teetor (August 17, 1890 – February 15, 1982) was a prolific inventor who invented cruise control. He was the longtime president of the automotive parts manufacturer The Perfect Circle Co. (acquired in 1963 by Dana Holding Corporation, then sold to Mahle GmbH in 2007) in Hagerstown, Indiana, a manufacturer of piston rings. Early life Ralph Rowe Teetor was born on August 17, 1890, in Hagerstown, Indiana to John H. Teetor. Teetor injured his eye at the age of five with a knife. Within a year, he developed sympathetic ophthalmia and became blind in both eyes. As a grown man he preferred never to discuss his disability. Teetor graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1908. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering in 1912. He returned to the University of Pennsylvania and received a master's degree in engineering around 1930.
