Haga Church (Norway)
Haga Church ( no, Haga kyrkje) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Samnanger Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the village of Haga. It is one of the two churches for the Samnanger parish which is part of the Hardanger og Voss prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The white, wooden church was built in a fan-shaped design in 1995 using plans drawn up by the architect Helge Hjertholm. The church seats about 230 people. History In 1903, a small prayer house was built in Haga. In 1920, the prayer house was consecrated as an annex chapel within the parish. A church association was founded in 1944 to raise money for a new church. In 1967, the municipality gave land for the new church. Helge Hjertholm was hired to design the new church, but money ran short and the work could not go forward. Samnangerfjorden () is a fjord in Vestland county, Norway. The long fjord is located in the municipalities of Bjørnafjorden (municipality), Bjørnafjorden and Samnanger. The head of the fjord is located in Samnanger, surrounded by the villages of Årland, Samnanger, Årland, Haga, Hordaland, Haga, and Tysse, Hordaland, Tysse. Midhordland
Midhordland or Midthordland is a traditional district in the Vestlandet region of Norway. It consists of the central-west portion of the old Hordaland county (now part of Vestland county), mostly including the islands and coastal fjord areas surrounding (and including) the Bergen Peninsula. It includes the city on Bergen and the surrounding municipalities of Askøy, Austevoll, Bjørnafjorden, Samnanger, and Øygarden.
