''Hadeon'' is the eighth studio album by Dutch death metal band Pestilence (band), Pestilence. It was released digitally on 26 January 2018, nearly two months ahead of its scheduled release date; a physical component of the album was released on 9 March 2018. ''Hadeon'' is the band's first album since their two-year hiatus from 2014 to 2016, and the first one since ''Malleus Maleficarum (album), Malleus Maleficarum'' (1988) not to feature longtime lead and rhythm guitarist Patrick Uterwijk. Pestilence (band)
Pestilence is a Dutch death metal band from Enschede, founded in 1986. There have been numerous lineup changes with the band over their -year career, with guitarist and vocalist Patrick Mameli as the only constant member. After disbanding in order to pursue other musical directions in 1994, Pestilence reunited in 2008, and was put on a "permanent hold" in July 2014. However, the band reunited once again in October 2016. To date, Pestilence has released nine studio albums, and they are often known as part of "progressive death metal's Big Four", along with Death, Atheist, and Cynic. History Early career (1986–1990) Pestilence started in the Netherlands in mid-1986 as a thrash metal band. The lineup, consisting of Patrick Mameli (guitar, vocals), Randy Meinhard (guitar), and Marco Foddis (drums), recorded two demos before gaining the attention of Roadrunner Records. Hammerheart Records (known as Karmageddon Media between 2004 and 2010) is a Dutch independent record label specializing in death metal, black metal, doom metal and folk metal bands from around the world. ''Obsideo'' is the seventh studio album by Dutch death metal band Pestilence. It was released on October 21, 2013 via Candlelight Records. The album was produced by the vocalist/guitarist Patrick Mameli, and their last before their two-year hiatus from 2014 to 2016. According to Mameli, the album's overall lyrical theme is "the journey of the human soul." ''Exitivm'' is the ninth studio album by Dutch death metal band Pestilence. It was released on 25 June 2021, after having been signed to Agonia Records. Because Septimiu Hărşan had to leave the band due to restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, he was replaced by Michiel van der Plicht (God Dethroned and Carach Angren) who has since become a full-time member. ''Malleus Maleficarum'' (stylized as ''Mallevs Maleficarvm'') is the debut studio album by the Dutch death metal band Pestilence, released in 1988. Although the sound of this album is technically death metal, its direction is notably different from the band's subsequent work, leaning more towards the thrash metal genre with punk influences, known as crossover thrash. Patrizio Marco Giovanni "Patrick" Mameli (born 23 November 1966) is a Dutch death metal singer and guitarist who is best known for his work with technical death metal band Pestilence. Mameli is founder and member of Pestilence since their formation in 1986. After eight years and four albums, the band called it quits in 1994, but reunited in 2008, and released three more albums before going on hiatus from 2014 to 2016. Santiago Dobles is a Venezuelan guitarist, songwriter, producer and son of Venezuelan symphonic composer Gustavo Dobles. He is best known as the founding member of tech-prog-fusion metal band Aghora. He has produced with Dan Escuariza, and Neil Kernon. Kernon produced Formless cd. Dan did the self-titled debut cd. Biography Santiago Dobles was born in Caracas, Venezuela.
