''Fitawrari'' Habte Giyorgis Dinagde ( am, ሀብተ ጊዮርጊስ ዲነግዴ; ; 1851 – 12 December 1926) also known by his horse name Abba Mechal was an Ethiopian military commander and government official who, among several other posts, served as President of the Council of Ministers and as Minister of War during the reigns of Menelik II, Zewditu and Haile Selassie. He was also Shum or Governor of Borena, Ibat, and Mecha. Early life ''Fitawrari'' Habte Giyorgis Dinagde was born in Čabo, a district in Southwestern Shewa bordering the Gurage region. His ethnicity is disputed with claims that he was an ethnic Gurage. and others claiming he was an ethnic Oromo. He was trained in the art of warfare and later promoted to a high rank in the empire's army under Emperor Menelik II. Habte Jifar (born January 29, 1976 in Ambo, Ethiopia) is an Ethiopian middle distance runner. He has a total of three medals in the All-African Games. His best performance in a global event was a sixth place at the 1999 World Championships. Princess Mahisente Habte Mariam(born at Nekemte on 9 February 1937) is the widow of Prince Sahle Selassie, youngest son of Emperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia. She is the daughter of ''Dejazmach'' Habte Mariam Gebre-Igziabiher, also referred as Kumsa Moroda ( Oromo: ''Kumsaa Morodaa'') heir to the former Welega Kingdom of Leqa Naqamte, and later served as governor of Welega province. Her mother was '' Woizero'' Yeshimebet Guma, a prominent Welega Oromo noblewoman who was later married to Ras Mesfin Selashi, a leading Ethiopian aristocrat and close associate of Emperor Haile Selassie. Princess Mahisente is also the mother of Prince Ermias Sahle Selassie, the current President of the Crown Council of Ethiopia. '' Tsehafi Taezaz'' Aklilu Habte-Wold ( am, አክሊሉ ሀብተ ወልድ; 12 March 1912 – 23 November 1974) was an Ethiopian politician under Emperor Haile Selassie. He was foreign minister of Ethiopia from 1947 to 1958 and Prime Minister from 1961 until his death by the Derg execution in 1974. Life Aklilu Habte-Wold was the son of a rural Ethiopian Orthodox priest from the Bulga district of Shewa province. He and his brothers, Makonnen Habte-Wold and Akalework Habte-Wold benefited from the patronage of Emperor Haile Selassie, who had them educated. Aklilu Habte-Wold attended the French ''lycee'' in Alexandria, then afterwards studied in France.
