HTBLVA Graz-Ortweinschule
The HTBLVA Graz-Ortweinschule is a Höhere technische Bundeslehr- und Versuchsanstalt in the district Geidorf of the Austrian city Graz. History Archduke John of Austria founded a , which established a drawing class for carpenters, locksmithing, bricklayers and carpentry in 1837 at the Universalmuseum Joanneum. Within the framework of the Trades Association, a winter school for master builders and also began in 1866. In 1872, the trade association founded the Styrian Art Industry Association in the Schießstatt building in Pfeifengasse, later Ortweinplatz. The Schießstatt building was extensively rebuilt and in 1876 the school was elevated to the status of with director , and a yearly technical school for was established alongside the winter school. A Höhere Technische Lehranstalt (German for ''Higher Technical Education Institute'', or in a transferred sense ''Technical College''), commonly known as HTL, is an engineering-focused secondary school in Austria. As an umbrella term it is used for either * Höhere Technische Lehranstalt (HTL, HTLA), * Höhere Technische Bundeslehranstalt (HTBLA, HTBL, Federal Higher Technical Institute), or * Höhere Technische Bundeslehr- und Versuchsanstalt (HTBLuVA, Federal Higher Technical Institute for Education and Experimentation). Soap&Skin is the experimental musical project of Austrian artist Anja Plaschg (born 5 April 1990). Life Anja Plaschg grew up in a small village called Poppendorf (near Gnas) in south east Styria, where her parents have a farm. She has played piano since she was six. At the age of 14 she began violin studies and developed an interest in electronic music. She attended the Graz Polytechnic for Graphic Design, but dropped out at 16 and moved to Vienna shortly afterwards. There she studied art at the Academy of Fine Arts in the master class of Daniel Richter, but at 18 dropped out again. After only playing a handful of concerts she was already being dubbed a "Wunderkind". In 2008 she played German singer Nico in the play "Nico - Sphinx aus Eis" by Werner Fritsch in Berlin and Vienna, performing several songs in it, including "Janitor of Lunacy", from her first EP. Werner Schwab
Werner Schwab (4 February 1958 – 1 January 1994) was an Austrian playwright and visual artist. Biography From 1978 to 1982 he studied sculpture at the Akademie der bildenden Künste in Vienna. During the 1980s he worked as a sculptor and woodcutter. Schwab was a heavy drinker who was said to have written his plays late at night while listening to loud music (particularly the band Einstürzende Neubauten, whom he was friends with). His body was found on New Year's Day 1994. Work Schwab's first play ''Die Präsidentinnen'' (sometimes translates as ''First Ladies'' or ''Holy mothers''), was produced at the Theater im Künstlerhaus in Vienna in 1990. Between then and his death four years later he wrote sixteen plays, eight of which were produced during his lifetime, making his career one of the briefest, most spectacular and most controversial in contemporary German-language theatre. Günter Brus (born 27 September 1938, Ardning, Styria, Austria) is an Austrian painter, performance artist, graphic artist, experimental filmmaker and writer. Brus grew up in Mureck, attended the Kunstgewerbeschule Graz and went to Vienna in 1956, where he studied painting and met his lifelong friend Alfons Schilling. Influenced by German expressionism, Edvard Munch, Vincent van Gogh, abstract expressionism and artists such as Emilio Vedova, he began in the fall of 1960 to create artwork that was not confined to visual media. His companion Otto Muehl, who met him at the time, said of his work: “The color sometimes exploded like a bomb when it hit the picture.
