Halden Håndballklubb was a women's handball team based in Halden. The team played in Eliteserien, the top division in the country, after its promotion in 2014. Halden
Halden (), between 1665 and 1928 known as Fredrikshald, is both a town and a municipality in Viken county, Norway. The municipality borders Sarpsborg to the northwest, Rakkestad to the north and Aremark to the east, as well as the Swedish municipalities Strömstad, Tanum and Dals-Ed respectively to the southwest, south and southeast. The seat of the municipality, Halden is a border town located at the mouth of the Tista river on the Iddefjord, the southernmost border crossing between Norway and Sweden. Eliteserien (women's Handball)
REMA 1000-ligaen is the premier women's professional handball league for Norwegian handball clubs. It is administered by the Norwegian Handball Federation, and the winners are recognized as Norwegian champions. It was established in 1968, and it is currently contested by thirteen teams. Larvik HK, which has dominated the competition in recent years, is the championship's most successful team with eighteen titles, followed by IL Vestar and Byåsen IL with nine and five respectively. The league has previously been known as eliteserien, Gildeserien, Postenligaen and GRUNDIGligaen. Handball
Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins. Modern handball is played on a court of , with a goal in the middle of each end. The goals are surrounded by a zone where only the defending goalkeeper is allowed; goals must be scored by throwing the ball from outside the zone or while "diving" into it. Anette Helene Hansen (born 12 February 1992) is a former Norwegian handball player who last played for Fredrikstad BK. She also represented Norway in the 2012 Women's Junior World Handball Championship, placing 8th. Career In 2015, Hansen played for Halden HK. In the summer of 2017, after Halden HK filed for bankruptcy, she left to join Nantes Loire Atlantique Handball, Nantes. Vipers Kristiansand is a handball club from Kristiansand, Norway. They currently compete in REMA 1000-ligaen, the top division in the country, since its promotion in 2001. They claimed there first Norwegian Championship in 2018, defeating 18 times-in-a-row champions from Larvik HK.
