HKFC International Soccer Sevens
The HKFC Soccer Sevens, formerly known as the International Soccer Sevens, is an annual invitational seven-a-side football tournament which is organised and hosted by Hong Kong Football Club. Held since 1999, many young professional players have made a name for themselves in the tournament including Premier League players Gabriel Agbonlahor, Andreas Weimann, Jack Grealish, Barry Bannan, Rolando Aarons, Hamza Choudhury, Glen Johnson, Anton Ferdinand, David Bentley, Marc Albrighton, Ben Johnson, Jaden Philogene-Bidace, Indiana Vassilev, Cameron Archer, Jeremy Ngakia, Harrison Ashby, Cody Drameh, Sidnei Tavares, Steven Alzate, Kelland Watts, Matty Longstaff, Oskar Buur, Luke Thomas and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall as well as Scotland internationals Shaun Maloney, Craig Beattie and Chris Burke. The competition ran from 1999-2019, with a break due to the SARS outbreak in Hong Kong in 2003. Craig Beattie (born 16 January 1984) is a Scottish former professional footballer who played as a striker. He started his career with Celtic before moving on to West Bromwich Albion and Swansea City, where he had loan spells with several Football League clubs. He then had mostly short spells with Heart of Midlothian, St Johnstone, Barnet, Dundee, Ayr United, Stirling Albion, Edinburgh City and Elgin City. Shaun Maloney
Shaun Richard Maloney (born 24 January 1983) is a Scottish football coach and former player. Maloney played for Celtic, Aston Villa, Wigan Athletic, Chicago Fire, Hull City and the Scotland national team as an attacking midfielder or winger. Maloney started his career at Celtic, playing 215 matches across all competitions and winning honours including five Scottish Premier League titles. He was the first player to claim both the SPFA Players' Player of the Year and the SPFA Young Player of the Year awards in the same season, doing so in 2005/06. Kiernan Frank Dewsbury-Hall (born 6 September 1998) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for club Leicester City. Career Dewsbury-Hall was born in Nottingham and grew up in Shepshed, Leicestershire. Luke Jonathan Thomas (born 10 June 2001) is an English professional footballer who plays as a left-back or left wing-back for Premier League club Sheffield United, on loan from club Leicester City. Oskar Buur Rasmussen (born 31 March 1998) is a Danish footballer who plays as a right-back for Dutch club FC Volendam.
