Helsingin Jalkapalloklubi (), commonly known as HJK Helsinki, or simply as HJK, is a professional football club based in Helsinki, Finland. The club competes in the Finnish Veikkausliiga. Founded in 1907, the club has spent most of its history in the top tier of Finnish football. The club's home ground is the 10,770-seat Bolt Arena, where they have played since 2000. Generally considered as Finland's biggest club, HJK is the most successful Finnish club in terms of championship titles with 32. The club has also won 14 Finnish Cups and 5 Finnish League Cups. Many of Finland's most successful players have played for HJK before moving abroad. The club has also similar success with women's Kansallinen Liiga. Helsingin Jalkapalloklubi is a Finland, Finnish women's soccer, women's football team representing HJK Helsinki in the Kansallinen Liiga. HJK is the championship's most successful team by a large margin, having won 22 titles between 1971 (its founding year) and 2005. The team enjoyed their best winning streak between 1995 and 2001. The following HJK reached the semifinals of the 2001-02 UEFA Women's Cup, inaugural edition of the UEFA Women's Cup, their best result in three appearances in the competition. In the subsequent six years from 2005 it has failed to win the championship, finishing either 2nd, 3rd or 4th. However, it has been more successful in the Finnish Women's Cup, national Cup, including three titles in a row between 2006–08. Helsingin Jääkiekkoklubi () or HJK for short is an ice hockey club located in Helsinki, Finland. The team was formed in 1928 but it became an independent club in 1972 when the ice hockey departmend of Helsingin Jalkapalloklubi was disestablished. After that, the women's club won the Naisten SM-sarja championship two times. Nowadays the club mainly focuses on their junior teams. The men's team had won three championships before that. History The hockey team of the Helsingin Jalkapalloklubi was promoted to the SM-sarja for the 1970–1971 after season being in the Suomensarja for a few years. HJK immediately tried to take part in the championship competition and started recruiting new top players such as Jorma Vehmanen and Matti Keinonen.
