HD 112028
HD 112028 is an evolved star in the northern constellation of Camelopardalis. It has spectral peculiarities that have been interpreted as a shell, and also relatively weak magnesium and silicon lines. Its spectral class has been variously assigned between B9 and A2, and its luminosity class between a subgiant and bright giant. At an angular separation of 21.47 ″ is the slightly fainter spectroscopic binary HD 112014, consisting of a pair of A-type main sequence stars. Camelopardalis (constellation)
Camelopardalis is a large but faint constellation of the celestial sphere, northern sky representing a giraffe. The constellation was introduced in 1612 or 1613 by Petrus Plancius. Some older astronomy books give Camelopardalus or Camelopardus as alternative forms of the name, but the version recognized by the International Astronomical Union matches the genitive form, seen suffixed to most of its key stars. ''Hipparcos'' was a scientific satellite of the European Space Agency (ESA), launched in 1989 and operated until 1993. It was the first space experiment devoted to precision astrometry, the accurate measurement of the positions of celestial objects on the sky. This permitted the first high-precision measurements of the intrinsic brightnesses (compared to the less precise apparent brightness), proper motions, and parallaxes of stars, enabling better calculations of their distance and tangential velocity. Σ 1694 is a double star, with components of magnitudes 5.3m and 5.9m: *Σ 1694A ( HD 112028) is a white A-type giant star with an apparent magnitude of 5.28m. A-type Main Sequence Star
An A-type main-sequence star (A V) or A dwarf star is a main-sequence (hydrogen-burning) star of spectral type A and luminosity class V (five). These stars have spectra defined by strong hydrogen Balmer absorption lines. They measure between 1.4 and 2.1 solar masses () and have surface temperatures between 7,600 and 10,000 K. In astronomy, Durchmusterung or Bonner Durchmusterung (BD) is an astrometric star catalogue of the whole sky, compiled by the Bonn Observatory in Germany from 1859 to 1903. The name comes from ('run-through examination'), a German word used for a systematic survey of objects or data. The term has sometimes been used for other astronomical surveys, including not only stars, but also the search for other celestial objects. Special tasks include celestial scanning in electromagnetic wavelengths shorter or longer than visible light waves.
