Hockey Club Liceo (also known as Deportivo Liceo for sponsorship reasons) is a Spanish rink hockey club based in A Coruña, Spain. Founded in 1972, Liceo is the only team from outside Catalonia to have won the Spanish league. History Founded in 1972 at the school Liceo La Paz, the club achieved the promotion to the first division in only seven years. In the 1980–81 season, only their second at the top tier, the club ended in the third position and secured the qualification to the World Skate Europe Cup. The 1980s became the golden years of the club. They started in 1982 with the title of the World Skate Europe Cup in their European debut and continued with the first Copa del Rey. In 1983 Liceo won their first League and later, the club would win two consecutive European Cups in 1987 and 1988. Pazo Dos Deportes De Riazor
Pazo dos Deportes de Riazor is a multi-purpose sports arena in A Coruña, Galicia, Spain. Located at Riazor's sports complex, the venue has 4,425 seats and a maximum capacity of 5,000 people. The arena is owned by the A Coruña City Hall and faces Estadio Riazor. History Construction started in November 1968 and finished with its opening on August 1, 1970, hosting a roller hockey match between Spain and a World Team composed of several players. Riazor hosted the Roller Hockey World Cups of 1972 and 1988. In 2018, Riazor was the venue for one of that season's Women's Flat Track Derby Association Playoffs, featuring roller derby teams from the United States, Argentina, England, France, Finland and Sweden. OK Liga Femenina is a Spanish rink hockey league for women. It has been held since 2008 and is the women's version of the men's OK Liga. History The OK Liga Femenina was created in 2008. In its first edition, it was played without Catalan teams due to the high costs of the travels during the competition. Competition format The championship is played through 26 matchdays in al round-robin format, a format quite common in other sports such as football. The top team when finished to play the 26 matchdays is the champion.
