Héctor Martínez (baseball Announcer)
Héctor Martínez is a former Major League Baseball player who was the first play-by-play announcer for the Boston Red Sox Spanish Beisbol Network. Martinez joined the Red Sox in 1990 when the Sox became the tenth team in Major League Baseball to offer a Spanish-language broadcast. Adrian Garcia Marquez (born December 28, 1973) is an American sportscaster who works for Fox Deportes as a play by announcer, narrator, and host. Adrian also serves as one of the international voices of the NBA calling action on the NBA League Pass. Prior to joining Fox and the NBA, Adrian was with the Los Angeles Lakers for 6 seasons serving as the team's Spanish TV play by play announcer on Time Warner Cable Deportes later becoming Spectrum Deportes. In his time calling Lakers basketball, Adrian became an Emmy Award winning announcer while also securing two NBA 'Best Live Call' Awards and 3 straight ‘Best TV Play by Play in Spanish’ Awards from the Southern California Sports Broadcasters Association. The 1994 Major League Baseball All-Star Game was the 65th playing of the midsummer classic between the all-stars of the American League (AL) and National League (NL), the two leagues comprising Major League Baseball. The game was held on July 12, 1994, at Three Rivers Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the home of the Pittsburgh Pirates of the National League—tying the Indians for the all-time record of most All-Star Games hosted by one franchise, as the Pirates had also hosted in 1944, 1959, and 1974 (and would again in 2006). WUNR is a radio station serving the city of Boston, Massachusetts, licensed to nearby Brookline. It broadcasts on 1600 kHz on the AM radio dial with an ethnic format. It is owned by Herbert Hoffman. History The station first signed on in 1948 as WVOM, a local station. WVOM was one of the earliest stations in the Boston area to adopt 24-hour broadcasting on a regular basis. The station was sold to Herbert Hoffman in 1955, who changed the call letters to WBOS and eventually added an FM station, WBOS-FM.
