Hyderabad Football Team
The Telangana football team is an Indian football team representing Telangana in Indian state football competitions including the Santosh Trophy. The team was first created in 2014. They debuted during the 2015–16 Santosh Trophy qualification season. Hyderabad They have appeared in the Santosh Trophy finals 4 times, and have won the trophy twice. Until 1959, the team competed as Hyderabad football team when the Hyderabad Football Association was merged with the Andhra Football Association to establish the combined team. The Telangana Football Association (abbreviated TFA) is one of the 36 Indian State Football Associations that are affiliated to the All India Football Federation. It administers football in the state of Telangana. It also sends state teams for Santosh Trophy and Senior Women's National Football Championship. Ghulam Muhammad was elected the first President of HFA and in 1942 Hadi became the President with Syed Abdul Rahim becoming the secretary. Shabbir Ali
Shabbir Ali (born 26 January 1956) is an Indian football manager and former player. He was awarded the Dhyan Chand Award, the highest award in Indian sports for lifetime achievement, given by Government of India in 2011. He is the first footballer to be named for the Dhyan Chand Award. Club career As a footballer, Shabbir Ali was rated as the best player in India during the 1970s and 1980s. Arguably the finest striker of his time, Shabbir was a prolific goal scorer both at the national and international level. Santosh Trophy
The Santosh Trophy, officially known as Hero Senior Men's National Football Championship due to sponsorship ties with Hero MotoCorp, is a state-level football competition contested by the state associations and government institutions under the All India Football Federation (AIFF), the sport's governing body in India. Before the starting of the first national club league, the National Football League in 1996, the Santosh Trophy was considered the top domestic honour in India. Many players who have represented India internationally, played and gained honour while playing in the Santosh Trophy. The tournament is held every year with 37 teams, who are divided into five zones, must play in the qualifying round and progress into the tournament proper. 2022–23 Santosh Trophy
The 2022–23 Santosh Trophy is the 76th edition of the Santosh Trophy, the premier competition in India for senior men's football teams representing their respective states/union territories and government institutions. Contrary to the recent seasons, this edition onwards, the AIFF adopted a new format for the tournament that saw the removal of the qualification stage, thereby allowing all the state teams to participate in the group stage. This move taken in a way for promoting the sport in every region of the country. On 6 October 2022, the AIFF signed a MoU with the SAFF, which included an agreement to host the semi-finals, the 3rd place decider & the final in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The 2022–23 Santosh Trophy group stage was contested by a total of 36 teams from 23 December 2022 to 31 January 2023, to decide the 10 places in the final round of the tournament. DCM Trophy
The Delhi Cloth Mills Trophy, known simply as D.C.M. Trophy, was an invitational football tournament in India. It was held annually in New Delhi and was organised by the local Delhi Football Association. It was India's first football tournament to provide the national clubs with international exposure due to participation of international clubs from Asia and Europe. History The tournament was established in 1945 by Bharat Ram and Charat Ram of the Delhi Cloth & General Mills textile conglomerate. Delhi's local teams won the first two editions; since then, clubs from Calcutta have dominated the 1950s and early 1960s, and foreign clubs since the late 1960s.
