Hutt Old Boys-Marist
Hutt Old Boys-Marist (HOBM) is a New Zealand rugby football club. Playing in the competitions of the Wellington Rugby Football Union, it is based at the Hutt Recreation Ground in Lower Hutt. Hutt Old Boys-Marist is a product of mergers over many years between former clubs, including Hutt (founded 1910), Hutt Valley High School Old Boys (1953) and Hutt Valley Marist (1949). The clubs merged in 1992, and played their first season in 1993, as Hutt Old Boys Marist, making the Hutt Recreation their home ground, and club rooms, while Hutt Valley Marist abandoned its club rooms located at Fraser park in Taita. The club celebrated its centennial in 2010, marking 100 years since the formation of the Hutt Rugby Club from earlier clubs Woburn and Kia Ora. Hutt Recreation Ground
The Hutt Recreation Ground is a football, cricket and rugby union ground in Lower Hutt, Wellington, New Zealand. The grounds are owned by the Hutt City Council and managed for them by Downer. History In 1905 the area was first used for recreation when the lot was used by the Hutt Amateur Athletic Club. It was subsequently purchased by the city council and in 1908 the premises were upgraded. The first grandstand at the ground was constructed in 1933 as part of a public works scheme to provide employment relief during the Great Depression. It is the home ground for the Hutt Districts cricket club. The first recorded cricket match held on the ground came in 1949 when Hutt Valley played Nelson in the 1948/49 Hawke Cup. Mark Shaw (rugby Union)
Mark William Shaw (born 23 May 1956) is a former New Zealand rugby union player. A flanker, Shaw represented Horowhenua, Manawatu and Hawke's Bay provincially and the All Blacks internationally. Jeremy Thrush (born 19 April 1985) is a rugby union lock who plays for the Western Force. He previously played for in Super Rugby and Wellington Lions in the ITM Cup. He represented the Junior All Blacks, New Zealand Under-19 and New Zealand Secondary Schools teams. He was a part of the victorious 2004 Under-19 World Championship team and was named the 2004 IRB World U19 Player of the Year. Hosea Emiliano Gear (born 16 March 1984) is a former New Zealand rugby union player who played as a wing. He has also played 14 international matches for New Zealand. Piri Awahou Tihou Weepu (born 7 September 1983) is a retired New Zealand rugby union player. Weepu played most recently for Wairarapa Bush in the Heartland Championship. Colin Loader
Colin James Loader (10 March 1931 – 19 June 2021) was a New Zealand rugby union player who represented the All Blacks between 1953 and 1954. Born in Dannevirke in 1931, Loader was educated at Hutt Valley High School, where he was a member of the 1st XV between 1948 and 1950. He first represented Wellington from the University club, but switched to the Hutt club in 1952. A second five-eighth and centre three-quarter, Loader was selected for the 1953–54 All Black tour to the British Isles, France and North America. He played 16 matches on the tour, including four test matches, scoring three tries in all. He made his international debut in Dublin against Ireland on 9 January 1954. He played all four of his test matches at the centre three-quarter position. He did not play for the All Blacks again and retired from rugby at the end of the 1955 season.
