Huntingdon Railway Station
Huntingdon railway station (formerly known as Huntingdon North) serves the town of Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire, England. It is on the East Coast Main Line, from , and has three platforms: one bay and two through platforms. The station is managed by Great Northern, although most services are operated by Thameslink. During engineering works or periods of disruption London North Eastern Railway services sometimes call at Huntingdon, but there is no regular London North Eastern Railway service from the station. History When originally opened by the Great Northern Railway on 7 August 1850, the station was just named ''Huntingdon'', however, from 1 July 1923 until 15 June 1965 the station was known as ''Huntingdon North'' to distinguish it from the nearby on the line between and via St Ives. Huntingdon Station (Amtrak)
Huntingdon station is an Amtrak railway station located at 4th and Allegheny Streets in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, approximately 95 miles northwest of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and 30 miles east of Altoona, Pennsylvania. The station is located at the south end of the borough, along one of the major streets into Huntingdon (4th Street), just north of the Juniata River. The station was originally built by the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1872, and shared service with the Huntingdon and Broad Top Mountain Railroad, which had a station across the tracks. The station house was closed by PRR in 1965, and is currently a local business. It also contained a signal house, which for a time served as a rail museum but now houses the Huntingdon County Chamber of Commerce. Efforts to save the former H&BTM station failed when it was demolished in 2001. Huntingdon is currently only served by Amtrak's '' Pennsylvanian'', which operates once per day in each direction. Huntingdon station is a SEPTA elevated rapid transit station in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, serving the Market–Frankford Line. It is located at the intersection of Kensington Avenue, Huntingdon Street, and B Street in the Kensington neighborhood of the city. It is the westernmost station on the line located above Kensington Avenue and is also served by SEPTA bus routes 3, 39, and 54. History Huntingdon is part of the Frankford Elevated section of the line, which began service on November 5, 1922. Between 1988 and 2003, SEPTA undertook a $493.3 million reconstruction of the Frankford Elevated. Huntingdon station was completely rebuilt on the site of the original station; the project included new platforms, elevators, windscreens, and overpasses, and the station now meets ADA accessibility requirements.
