Hungry For Heaven
"Hungry for Heaven" is the seventh single released by heavy metal band Dio. It was the second single from their 1985 LP ''Sacred Heart'', although it was originally written for the movie ''Vision Quest'', appearing both in the film and on the associated soundtrack album. Many different versions of the single exist; the original UK release had the B-side songs " King of Rock and Roll" and a live version of "Like the Beat of a Heart". An international version, however, had live versions of the songs "Holy Diver" and "Rainbow in the Dark" on the B-side, with a different sleeve design. The Australian release featured "The Last in Line" on the B-side, but this may have been a promotional release. The single peaked at #30 on the ''Billboard'' Top Album Tracks chart. A different version of this song also made an appearance in the 1985 movie ''Vision Quest''. Dio (band)
Dio was an American heavy metal band formed in 1982 and led by vocalist Ronnie James Dio. Dio left Black Sabbath with intentions to form a new band with fellow former Black Sabbath drummer Vinny Appice. The name Dio was chosen because it made sense from a commercial standpoint, as the name was already well known at that time. The band released 10 studio albums and had numerous lineup changes over the years, with Dio himself being the only constant member. Guitarists included Vivian Campbell, Craig Goldy, Doug Aldrich, Warren DeMartini, Tracy G, Jake E. Lee and Rowan Robertson. The band dissolved in 2010 when Ronnie James Dio died of stomach cancer at the age of 67. Dio has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide. "Holy Diver" is a song by American heavy metal band Dio. It was released in August 1983 as the lead single from the band's debut album of the same name. Although it only reached number 40 on the Mainstream Rock chart at that time, it is one of Dio's most popular songs today. Reception Following the September 11 attacks, the song was placed on the list of post-9/11 inappropriate titles distributed by Clear Channel. In 2009, "Holy Diver" placed 43rd on VH1's ''Top 100 Hard Rock Songs''. Content Dio said the lyrics are about a Christ figure on another planet who sacrifices himself to redeem his people. "Baba O'Riley" is a song by the English rock band the Who, and the opening track to their fifth album ''Who's Next'' (1971). It was issued in Europe as a single on 23 October 1971, coupled with "My Wife". Roger Daltrey sings most of the song, with Pete Townshend singing the middle eight: "Don't cry/ don't raise your eye/ it's only teenage wasteland". "Baba O'Riley" appears in ''Time'' magazine's "All-Time 100 Songs" list, ''Rolling Stone''s list of "The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time", and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as one of the 500 Songs That Shaped Rock and Roll. The Who
The Who are an English rock band formed in London in 1964. "The Last in Line" is the third single released by heavy metal band Dio, appearing on their platinum-certified LP of the same name. It was Dio's only song to hit the Top 10 of '' Billboard'''s Album Rock Tracks. Unlike the band's first two singles, this song was not released as a single in the UK, but rather in the Netherlands and Spain. There is also an alternate version in the Netherlands sold only at the Pinkpop '84 festival on June 11, 1984.
