__NOTOC__ Bangham is a locality in the Australian state of South Australia located in the state's south-east within the Limestone Coast region about south east of the state capital of Adelaide, about south-east of the municipal seat of Bordertown and adjoining the border with the State of Victoria. Boundaries were created in March 2000 for the “long established name” which is derived from existing geographical features such as the Bangham Railway Station. The name is ultimately derived from Edward Bangham who “held adjacent land under occupation licence in the 1840s.” The Frances Road which is a road maintained by the Government of South Australia, passes through the locality from Bordertown in the north to Frances in the south. The Mount Gambier railway line which has been closed since 12 April 1995, passes from north to south through the locality on its east side. MacKillop is a single-member electoral district for the South Australian House of Assembly. It was named in 1991 after Sister Mary MacKillop who served the local area, and later became the first Australian to be canonised as a Roman Catholic saint. 2016 Australian Census
The 2016 Australian census was the 17th national population census held in Australia. The census was officially conducted with effect on Tuesday, 9 August 2016. The total population of the Commonwealth of Australia was counted as – an increase of 8.8 per cent or people over the . __NOTOC__ Pine Hill Soak Conservation Park is a protected area in the Australian state of South Australia located in the state's Limestone Coast in the gazetted locality of Bangham, South Australia, Bangham about south of the town centre in Bordertown, South Australia, Bordertown. The conservation park occupies land in section 67 of Lands administrative divisions of South Australia, the cadastral unit of the Hundred of Geegeela on the eastern side of Frances Road. It is bounded by McCarthy Road to the north and by a vehicle track to its east and south boundaries. Land adjoining its south-west boundary is gazetted as a recreation reserve and contains a meeting hall, hall called the Bangham Hall and some tennis courts. __NOTOC__ Geegeela Conservation Park is a protected area in the Australian state of South Australia located in the state's south-east in the gazetted locality of Bangham about north-west of the state capital of Adelaide and about north-west of the town centre in Frances. The conservation park occupies land in sections 22 and 25 of the cadastral unit of the Hundred of Geegeela which is located to the west of the Bordertown-Frances Road. The land was purchased with assistance of the Australian Government's Natural Heritage Trust and was proclaimed on 21 July 2005 as a conservation park under the ''National Parks and Wildlife Act 1972''. The name which was approved by the Surveyor General of South Australia in 2003 is derived from both the Hundred of Geegeela and “Geegeela Old Station” which is the name of the original homestead. Bangham Conservation Park
__NOTOC__ Bangham Conservation Park is a protected area in the Australian state of South Australia located in the state's Limestone Coast in the gazetted locality of Bangham about north-east of the town centre in Naracoorte. In the mid-1930s Professor Cleland called on the South Australian government to declare the Bangham forest a nature reserve, as an example of fast-disappearing southern Murray woodland, and home of South Australia's last indigenous koalas. The conservation park occupies land in section 4 and Allotment 1 of Deposited Plan 78796 in the cadastral unit of the Hundred of Geegeela which is bounded by the Bordertown-Frances Road on its western side, a road on its southern side and the Bordertown – Naracoorte railway line on its eastern side. Mount Gambier Railway Line
The Mount Gambier railway line was a railway line on the South Australian Railways network. Opened in stages from 1881, it was built to narrow gauge and joined Mount Gambier railway station, which was at that time the eastern terminus of a line to Beachport. It connected at Naracoorte to another isolated narrow gauge line joining Naracoorte to Kingston SE, and to the broad gauge Adelaide-Wolseley line at Wolseley, at around the same time that was extended to Serviceton to become the South Australian part of the interstate Melbourne–Adelaide railway.
