Humanoids From The Deep
''Humanoids from the Deep'' (released as ''Monster'' in Europe and Japan) is a 1980 American science fiction horror film starring Doug McClure, Ann Turkel, and Vic Morrow. Roger Corman served as the film's uncredited executive producer, and his company, New World Pictures, distributed it. ''Humanoids from the Deep'' was directed by Barbara Peeters and an uncredited Jimmy T. Murakami. Plot Anglers from the fishing village of Noyo, California, catch what appears to be a monster. The young son of one of the anglers falls into the water and something unseen drags him under the surface. Another angler prepares a flare gun, but he slips and accidentally fires it into the deck, which is soaked with gasoline dropped earlier by the boy. Barbara Peeters
Barbara Peeters, also known as Barbara Peters, is an American director and screenwriter of television and film. She is best known for her collaborations with producer-director Roger Corman on films such as ''Humanoids from the Deep'', and directing episodes of television shows such as ''Remington Steele''. Career Peeters broke into the film industry working in makeup, as a script supervisor, and as a production manager. An Israeli investor wanted an X-rated sex film, enabling Peeters to turn director with ''Just the Two of Us'' (originally titled ''The Dark Side of Tomorrow''). She wrote and directed the 1971 biker ''Bury Me an Angel''. She was one of two female directors working for New World Pictures in the 1970s, the other being Stephanie Rothman. Film writer Gary Morris argued, "her New World work is arguably more subversive than Rothman's." ''The Horror of Party Beach'' is a 1964 American horror film in the beach party genre, directed and co-produced by Del Tenney. The film, described as "a take-off on beach parties and musicals," is considered to be one of the worst films of all time. Plot Near a small East Coast beach town, a boat dumps a 55-gallon metal drum labeled "Danger Radioactive Waste" into the ocean. The drum opens upon reaching the bottom, releasing its contents upon a sunken ship and a nearby human skeleton. The skeleton is transformed into an aquatic, humanoid monster. The monster immediately ambulates toward the beach, where a dance party featuring The Del-Aires musical group is in progress. Delbert "Del" Tenney (July 27, 1930 – February 21, 2013) was an American actor, film director, screenwriter and film producer. Starting out as an actor he appeared in some Off-Broadway plays and also performed in the Broadway premiere of Terence Rattigan's play '' Ross''. Robin R. Bottin (born April 1, 1959) is an American special make-up effects creator. Known for his collaborations with directors John Carpenter, Paul Verhoeven and David Fincher, Bottin worked with Carpenter on both ''The Fog'' and '' The Thing'', with Verhoeven on ''RoboCop'', '' Total Recall'' and ''Basic Instinct'', and with Fincher on '' Se7en'' and ''Fight Club''.
