Hugo Rodríguez Chinchilla
Hugo Otoniel Rodríguez Chinchilla (5 October 1975 – 5 April 2023) was a Guatemalan politician who served as a deputy of the Congress of Guatemala for the Central District from January 2020 until his death in April 2023. Rodríguez was a member of the political party Commitment, Renewal and Order (CREO). Early life Rodríguez was born on 5 October 1975. Political career In the 2015 municipal elections, Rodríguez was elected as fifth councilor of the Municipality of Chinautla, Guatemala Department, for the Patriotic Party (PP), from 2016 to 2020. Rodríguez ranked second in the list of candidates for deputies for the Central District of the Commitment, Renewal and Order (CREO) party in the 2019 legislative elections. He was elected as a deputy and took office on 14 January 2020 as part of the IX Legislature of Congress. The Congress of the Republic ( es, Congreso de la República) is the unicameral legislature of the Republic of Guatemala. The Guatemalan Congress is made up of 160 deputies who are elected by direct universal suffrage to serve four-year terms. Commitment, Renewal and Order ( es, Compromiso, Renovación y Orden, CREO; ) is a political party in Guatemala. History The party was established on 27 October 2010. In the 2011 general elections it nominated Eduardo Suger as its presidential candidate; Suger finished third with 16% of the vote. Patriotic Party (Guatemala)
The Patriotic Party ( es, Partido Patriota, PP) was a conservative political party in Guatemala. It was founded on 24 February 2001 by retired army officer Otto Pérez Molina. Strongly compromised by corruption cases, the party fell from 36% support in 2011 to 4% in 2015. It is dissolved on court order in January 2017. 2003 election At the legislative elections held on 9 November 2003, the party was part of the Grand National Alliance which won 24.3% of the vote and 47 out of 158 Congressional seats. General elections were held in Guatemala on 16 June 2019, to elect the President, Congress and local councils. A second round of the presidential elections was held on 11 August 2019, since no candidate won a majority in the first round. Alejandro Giammattei won the election in the second round of voting. 2023 Guatemalan General Election
General elections were held in Guatemala on 25 June 2023 to elect the president and vice president, all 160 seats of the Congress, all 20 members of the Central American Parliament, and mayors and councils for all 340 municipalities in the country.
