George Fleming (explorer)
George Fleming (1800?1880?) was an African-American explorer and trader. A former slave, he accompanied David Livingstone in exploring northern Botswana and central Africa. In 1849, Fleming served as cook on the expedition of Livingstone, William Oswell, Mungo Murray and Hubert Wilson to 'discover' Lake Ngami. In 1851, he travelled to the BaKololo with Livingstone and Oswell. Backed financially by Howson Rutherford, Fleming established himself as a trader in the interior. In 1853, he explored the Zambezi with Livingstone, and after separating from Livingstone may have been the first explorer to visit Victoria Falls. Hubert Wilson (baseball)
Hubert Roosevelt Wilson (September 19, 1902 – October 21, 1981), nicknamed "Tack", was an American Negro league pitcher in the 1920s. A native of Van Alstyne, Texas, Wilson attended Texas College. He pitched for the Kansas City Monarchs in 1928 and 1929, posting an 8–2 record with a 3.21 ERA in 17 recorded games over the two seasons. James Hubert Wilson (May 13, 1909 — July 15, 1999) was a Canadian professional ice hockey centre who played two games in the National Hockey League with the New York Americans during the 1931–32 season. The rest of his career, which lasted from 1930 to 1942, was spent in various minor leagues. Longford–Westmeath is a parliamentary constituency represented in Dáil Éireann, the lower house of the Irish parliament or Oireachtas. The constituency elects 4 deputies ( Teachtaí Dála, commonly known as TDs) on the system of proportional representation by means of the single transferable vote (PR-STV). History and boundaries The constituency previously existed from 1921 to 1937 and from 1948 to 1992, but was abolished for the 1992 general election. It was re-created by the Electoral (Amendment) Act 2005 which gave effect to the 2004 ''Constituency Commission Report on Dáil Constituencies'', and was first used in its current form at the 2007 general election. It contains the County Longford portion of the former Longford–Roscommon constituency, and most of the former Westmeath constituency apart from the north-eastern area around Castlepollard and Delvin, which became part of the new Meath West constituency.
