Hua Yang De Nian Hua
''Hua Yang De Nian Hua'' is a 2001 short film by Hong Kong director Wong Kar-wai that was shown at the 2001 Berlin International Film Festival. It consists of a 2-minute-28-second montage of scenes from vintage Chinese films, most of which were considered lost until some nitrate prints were discovered in a California warehouse during the 1990s, set to a song from the soundtrack of Wong's ''In the Mood for Love'' (2000), a golden oldie by Zhou Xuan; this song gives the film its title. It is available on the Criterion Collection DVD release of ''In the Mood for Love'' as an extra, as well as various bootlegged Video CD, VCD releases of Wong's features. Wong Kar-wai (born 17 July 1958) is a Hong Kong film director, screenwriter, and producer. His films are characterised by nonlinear narratives, atmospheric music, and vivid cinematography involving bold, saturated colours. Zhou Xuan
Zhou Xuan (; born Su Pu (); August 1, 1920 – September 22, 1957), also romanized as Chow Hsuan, was an iconic Chinese singer and film actress. By the 1940s, she had become one of China's Seven Great Singing Stars. She was the best known of the seven, nicknamed the "Golden Voice", and had a concurrent movie career until 1954. She recorded more than 200 songs and appeared in over 40 films in her career. Early life Zhou was born Su Pu (), but was separated from her natural parents at a young age and raised by adoptive parents. William Chang Suk-ping ( zh, 張叔平; born 12 November 1953) is a Hong Kong production designer, costume designer and film editor. Along with cinematographer Christopher Doyle, Chang is an important collaborator with Hong Kong film director Wong Kar-wai. He has also collaborated with directors such as Stanley Kwan, Patrick Tam, Yim Ho, Tsui Hark, Jiang Wen and Johnnie To. He is of Shanghainese ancestry.
