The Royal Households of the United Kingdom consists of royal officials and the supporting staff of the British Royal Family, as well as the Royal Household which supports the Sovereign. Each member of the Royal Family who undertakes public duties has his own separate Household. King George V (1865–1936) was created Duke of York in 1892, and received a separate household together with his brother. Courtiers appointed to assist the Prince George of Wales until that year had been part of his parents´ household. After his marriage to Princess Mary of Teck in 1893 they shared the Household of the Duke and Duchess of York. Derek Keppel
Lieutenant Colonel Sir Derek William George Keppel (7 April 1863 – 26 April 1944) was a member of the British Royal Household. Early life Keppel was a son of the 7th Earl of Albemarle and was educated at Charterhouse School. He joined the army and rose to the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in The Prince of Wales' Own Civil Service Rifles and served in India. Courtier Keppel was appointed an equerry to the Duke of York in 1893, and was reappointed as such when the latter became Prince of Wales in 1901. On the Prince's accession as King George V in 1910, Keppel was appointed Deputy Master of the Household and in 1912 promoted to Master of the Household, serving in this post until the King's death in 1936. He continued as the only Master of the Household under King Edward VIII's short reign, and on the accession of King George VI he returned to being an equerry until his own death in 1944. Lady Mary Trefusis, née Lygon (26 February 1869–12 September 1927) was an English hymnwriter and courtier. She was also known as Lady Mary Forbes-Trefusis. She was a daughter of the 6th Earl Beauchamp and the wife of Lt.-Col. Henry Hepburn-Stuart-Forbes-Trefusis (a son of the 20th Baron Clinton) in 1905 and had issue. She was Lady of the Bedchamber to Queen Mary, having joined her household while Mary was Princess of Wales. In the 1920s Trefusis was on the Diocesan Advisory Committee for Truro. Anthony Ashley-Cooper, 9th Earl of Shaftesbury (31 August 1869 – 25 March 1961), was the son of the 8th Earl of Shaftesbury and Lady Harriet Augusta Anna Seymourina Chichester (1836 – 14 April 1898), the daughter of the 3rd Marquess of Donegall and Lady Harriet Anne Butler. Sir Edward William Wallington (7 December 1854 – 12 December 1933) was an English people, English first-class cricketer, colonial administrator in Australia and a member of the British Royal Household. The son of Sir John Wallington, he was born in December 1854 at Oakley, Hampshire. He was educated at Sherborne School, before going up to Oriel College, Oxford. While studying at Oxford, he played first-class cricket for Oxford University Cricket Club, Oxford University, making his debut against the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) in 1875. He did not feature for Oxford in 1876, but did play a further four matches in 1877, including in that years The University Match (cricket), University Match.
