''House for the Rich'' (russian: Дом для богатых, Dom dlya bogatykh) is a 2000 Russian drama film directed by Vladimir Fokin. Plot The film is set in the apartment of an old Moscow mansion. In the middle of the 19th century, the squandering nobleman Burkovsky sells the family home, and from that moment the apartment begins its transformation and it gets interwoven with the destinies of the people who have inhabited it: from the Narodnaya Volya members to the Bolshevik commissars, from the terrible communal apartment to the re-creation of the chic apartments by the "new Russian" Rumyanov - satirist, poet, actor. Valentin Gaft
Valentin Iosifovich Gaft (russian: Валенти́н Ио́сифович Гафт; 2 September 1935 – 12 December 2020) was a Soviet and Russian actor. He was People's Artist of the RSFSR (1984). Biography Early life and education Gaft was born in Moscow to Jewish parents and sister, Iosif Ruvimovich Gaft (1907–1969), a lawyer, and Gita Davydovna Gaft (1908–1993). Rima Iosifovna Gaft-Shtrom (1930-2021). The family moved to Moscow from Poltava, Ukraine. During World War II Iosif Gaft served in the Red Army finishing with the rank of Major. Gaft took a great interest in theater while in school and took part in the school theater amateur performance. He graduated from the School-Studio at the Moscow Art Theatre (1953–1957). Yevgeny Vladimirovich Sidikhin (russian: Евге́ний Влади́мирович Сиди́хин) is a Russian film and theater actor and television presenter. Early life and education Sidikhin was born in Leningrad, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union (now Saint Petersburg, Russia). He studied martial arts and boxing from the 4th grade and was a five-time champion in the City of Leningrad. After high school he was accepted into the Leningrad State Institute of Theater, Music, and Cinematography (LGITMiK). However, in his freshman year, he was drafted into the army. Yuriy Vladimirovich Nazarov (russian: Ю́рий Влади́мирович Наза́ров; born 5 May 1937) is a Soviet and Russian actor. People's Artist of Russia (2005). Biography He was born Yuriy Vladimirovich Nazarov in Novosibirsk, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union. His father, Nikolai Aldomirovich Nazarov (1906–1971), was an ethnic Chechen Lieutenant of the Red Army, who served in the Eastern Front and the Crimean offensive in 1944. In 1989, Nazarov was nominated for a Nika Award as Best Actor in the film ''Little Vera'' playing Vera's father. Nazarov has appeared in the cinema of Russia since 1954. Valery Garkalin
Valery Borisovich Garkalin (russian: Вале́рий Бори́сович Гарка́лин; 11 April 1954 – 20 November 2021) was a Soviet and Russian theater and film actor. He was awarded the People's Artist of the Russian Federation in 2008. Garkalin was also a professor of GITIS. Personal life He was married to Yekaterina from 1978 until her death in 2009. His daughter Nika is active in theatrical production. His son-in-law is an actor of the Theatre of Nations Pavel Akimkin. Garkalin became a grandfather in 2012 when his daughter gave birth to a son named Timofey. Garkalin was hospitalized with COVID-19 in Kommunarka on 2 October 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic in Russia. He died from complications of COVID-19 on 20 November 2021.
