Nikko Hotels
is an international hotel chain comprising properties in Asia, Europe, North America, and the South Pacific. It is owned by Okura Hotels. Nikko Hotels International (NHI) began operations in 1972 as the global hotel brand of Japan Airlines, with its first property located in Jakarta. The first NHI-operated hotel in Japan opened in 1973. Other Nikko properties have been owned and operated by other entities; among the oldest Nikko properties is the Ginza Nikko, which opened in 1959. Nikko Hotels International used to be owned by Japan Airlines Development Company Limited, which in the 1990s was renamed JAL Hotels. Hotel Royal, Aarhus
Hotel Royal is a historic hotel in the heart of Aarhus, Denmark, in the central Indre By neighborhood. It overlooks Aarhus Cathedral and the large Store Torv square. The hotel is among the highest ranked hotels in Denmark with a history as the most prestigious in the city. The hotel, which today has 64 rooms, was founded in 1838 by the innkeeper Niels Larsen from Odense. The new hotel was constructed from two existing buildings overlooking Aarhus' central square. It quickly established a reputation for luxury with clients including royalty, politicians, writers, film stars and singers. Hotel Royal is a former hotel located at the corner of Ved Stranden and Fortunstræde in central Copenhagen, Denmark. The hotel existed from 1798 until 1876 and the building has later housed a newspaper publishing house and the Danish Society of Engineers. It takes its name from the Young Turk Revolution, which began in the square in 1908. The square is currently a car park, but a public competition was launched by the Municipality of Thessaloniki in 2013 to select a design for its redevelopment into a park. Bahadur Bhawan (initially known as Char Burja Durbar) is a Rana palace in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. The palace complex, located west of Jamal, north of Keshar Mahal was incorporated in an impressive and vast array of courtyards, gardens and buildings. The Hotel Royal fire occurred on February 7, 1892, at the Hotel Royal in New York City, killing 28 people. The fire began in the hotel's elevator shaft, where the night engineer was performing maintenance work by the light of a candle. Amanda Strydom
Amanda Strydom (born 23 July 1956) is a South African singer and songwriter. Although she is known best for her singing, Strydom has also been active as a playwright and actress, most notably in the fields of cabaret and also in television. Biography Early life Strydom was born in the city of Port Elizabeth where she lived and went to school, matriculating from Framesby High School in 1974. She had no formal music training during her childhood (nor did she at any other time in her life) and she can't read a note of music, but she was an active participant in school choirs, and also learnt drama at the Children's Theatre with Mari Mocke and Marlene Pieterse. Strydom pursued a tertiary education at the University of Pretoria where she graduated in 1978 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, specialising in drama.
