Hot Cars And Spent Contraceptives
''Hot Cars & Spent Contraceptives'' is the first full-length album by Norwegian band Turbonegro. It was released in March 1992 through Big Ball Records. Only 1,000 copies were released originally in Norway. A different version with five extra tracks of the record was released on early 1993 in Germany by Repulsion Records, titled ''Helta Skelta'' with a painted portrait of Sirhan Sirhan on the cover (several people have mistaken it for Charles Manson) and a 20-plus minute audio-play about a young man being raped by a policeman called "A Career in Indierock". This version left out the song "Prima Moffe". Only 1,500 copies were made of this version. When Bitzcore Records started to re-release the earlier Turbonegro records the album was remastered and came with a new artwork by Dimitri 'from Oslo' Kayiambakis. It was released in June 2000 titled ''Hot Cars and Spent Contraceptives'', it contained all the tracks from the original version and had the same bonus tracks as ''Helta Skelta ... Turbonegro (Turboneger in Norway) is a Norwegian rock band, active from 1989 to 1998 and from 2002 to the present. The band combines glam rock, punk rock, and hard rock into a self-described "deathpunk" musical style. History Early years (1989–1994) Turbonegro formed in Oslo during the winter of 1988–1989. The initial lineup consisted of Thomas Seltzer (a.k.a. Happy-Tom), Vegard Heskestad, Pål Bøttger Kjærnes, Rune Grønn, Pål Erik Carlin and Tor-Kristian "TK" Jenssen. The twelve-inch single (often written as 12-inch or 12″) is a type of vinyl ( polyvinyl chloride or PVC) gramophone record that has wider groove spacing and shorter playing time with a 'single' or a few related sound tracks on each surface, compared to LPs (long play) which have several songs on each side. Thomas Seltzer (born 27 July 1969 in Hamar, Norway) is a musician in the band Turbonegro, a television talk show host and documentary creator, and an author. Personal life Seltzer was born to an American father and a Norwegian mother. Although he was born in Norway and has lived in Norway since his early childhood, Seltzer retains his U.S. citizenship and has never been a citizen of Norway ''de jure''. Seltzer applied for Norwegian citizenship in 2016, but got rejected due to Norwegian laws prohibiting multiple citizenship. The Seltzer family hails originally from Midland, Texas in the United States, but together with his five-year-older brother he grew up in Superior, Wisconsin. At six, in 1975, he moved to Nesodden in Akershus, Norway. Seltzer currently lives in Oslo where he workis as a talkshow host and documentarist for the public Norwegian national television channel NRK. Peter Sellers (born Richard Henry Sellers; 8 September 1925 – 24 July 1980) was an English actor and comedian. Hardcore punk (also known as simply hardcore) is a punk rock music genre and subculture that originated in the late 1970s. It is generally faster, harder, and more aggressive than other forms of punk rock.
