Chris Horodecki
Christopher Horodecki (born September 24, 1987) is a Polish-Canadian mixed martial artist. He has competed for the WEC, the IFL, Bellator, TKO Major League MMA, and Palace Fighting Championship. Background Horodecki was born in London, Ontario, Canada. At age 13, he attended a seminar run by Shawn Tompkins in Port Stanley and became "addicted" to mixed martial arts. Mixed martial arts career International Fight League Chris made his debut knocking out Erik Owings at IFL: Championship 2006. He then scored victories over Ed West, Ryan Schultz, Bart Palaszewski, Josh Odom and Shad Lierley. Chris then defeated Bart Palaszewski again that earned him a spot in the finals for the lightweight title. Horodecki was then defeated by Ryan Schultz in the finals of the 2007 IFL Grand Prix. Affliction Chris was originally scheduled to fight Dan Lauzon at Affliction: Day of Reckoning but was denied his license for failing his physical. Chris then suffered from a bulging disc in his ne ...

Ryszard Horodecki
Ryszard Horodecki (born 30 September 1943) is a Polish physicist and a professor of University of Gdańsk. He contributed largely to the field of quantum informatics. In his most widely cited paper, 'Separability of Mixed States: Necessary and Sufficient Conditions' written together with his sons, Michał and Paweł, he proposed the idea currently known as the Peres-Horodecki criterion. With over 12,000 citations, he is considered to be one of the leading Polish physicists . Career He graduated from Department of Electronics, University of Gdańsk. Horodecki received his Ph.D. from Gdańsk University of Technology in 1976. Twenty-one years later, in 1997 he obtained his habilitation from Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. His contribution to the quantum informatics were acknowledged in 2008, when he received the Prize of the Foundation for Polish Science in the field of mathematics and physics. In 2010 he became a member of Polish Academy of Sciences, whereas in 2011 rec ...

Paweł Horodecki
Paweł Horodecki (born in 1971) is a Polish professor of physics at the Gdańsk University of Technology working in the field of quantum information theory. He is best known for introducing (together with his father Ryszard Horodecki and brother Michał Horodecki) the Peres-Horodecki criterion for testing whether a quantum state is entangled. Moreover, Paweł Horodecki demonstrated that there exist states which are entangled whereas no pure entangled states can be obtained from them by means of local operations and classical communication (LOCC). Such states are called bound entangled states. He also showed that even bound entanglement (when used in conjunction with a single pair of free entangled particles) can lead to quantum teleportation with a fidelity impossible to achieve with only separable states. Paweł Horodecki was educated in Poland, receiving an M.Sc from the University of Gdańsk (1995) and a Ph.D (with honours) from the Gdańsk University of Technology (1999) and ...

Władysław Horodecki
Władysław Horodecki (born Leszek Dezydery Horodecki; russian: Владислав Владиславович Городецкий; uk, Владислав Владиславович Городецький; — January 3, 1930) was a Polish architect active in the Russian Empire and later in the Second Polish Republic. He is best known for his contributions in the urban development of Kyiv, with buildings such as the House with Chimaeras, the St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Cathedral, the Karaite Kenesa, and the National Art Museum of Ukraine. In Kyiv, Horodecki often worked along with a sculptor from Milan, Emilio Sala, who was an instructor at the Kyiv City College. Michał Horodecki
Michał Horodecki (born 1973) is a Polish physicist at the University of Gdańsk working in the field of quantum information theory, notable for his work on entanglement theory. He co-discovered the Peres-Horodecki criterion for testing whether a state is entangled, and used it to find bound entanglement together with his brother Paweł Horodecki and father Ryszard Horodecki. He co-discovered with Jonathan Oppenheim, Paweł Horodecki and Karol Horodecki that secret key can be drawn from some bound entangled states. Together with Fernando Brandao he proved that every one-dimensional quantum state with a finite correlation length obeys an area law for entanglement entropy. Together with Jonathan Oppenheim and Andreas Winter, he discovered quantum state-merging In quantum information theory, quantum state merging is the transfer of a quantum state when the receiver already has part of the state. The process optimally transfers partial information using entanglement and classical c ...
