Hooman Tavakolian
Hooman "Mo" Tavakolian (born Mohammad Ali Tavakolian, September 17, 1976) is an Iranian-American former wrestler, wrestling coach, sports diplomat and a member of United World Wrestling. Tavakolian was nominated in 2017 for the Peace and Sport Federation's “Diplomatic Action of the Year” award for his efforts to bring together the Islamic Republic of Iran Wrestling Federation and the USA Wrestling Federation through the 2017 Wrestling World Cup, during which he was leader of the US team. Iran, the World Cup host, had initially barred the US team from competing in retaliation for President Trump's travel bans. He is a 2017 National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum inductee. Jordan Ernest Burroughs (born July 8, 1988) is an American freestyle wrestler and former folkstyle wrestler who currently competes at 79 kilograms, and previously competed at 74 kilos. In freestyle, he was the 2012 Olympic gold medalist, is the reigning and a six-time world champion (nine-time medalist), three-time Pan American Games Gold medalist, four-time Pan American champion, and four-time US Open national champion, and has made the US World or Olympic Team on 11 occasions. In folkstyle, Burroughs was a two-time NCAA Division I champion for the Nebraska Cornhuskers and was awarded the Dan Hodge Trophy (equivalent to the Heisman Trophy) in 2012. September 2018 Kabul Attacks
Two bombings on 5 September 2018 at the Maiwand Wrestling Club in ''Qala-e-Nazer'' in '' Dasht-e-Barchi'', a predominantly Hazara neighborhood of western Kabul, left at least 20 people dead and 70 others wounded, the deadliest attack on Kabul's Shia since the 15 August suicide bombing. The responsibility for the attacks was claimed by ISIL. Attacks In the first attack a suicide bomber detonated his explosive vest around 6 p.m. local time at the Maiwand Wrestling Club. The second explosion took place when a car packed with explosives was detonated by the time emergency services, journalists and police had gathered at the scene. The witnesses said on social media that the attacker killed the club guards before blowing himself up inside the club.
