Hong Kong Hockey Association
The Hong Kong Hockey Association is the sports governing body of field hockey in Hong Kong. It is affiliated with two hockey federations, the IHF International Hockey Federation and AHF Asian Hockey Federation. The headquarters of the federation are in Hong Kong. Sarinder Dillon is the President of the Hong Kong Hockey Association and Ernest Li is the Secretary General. 2018–19 Men's Hockey Series
The 2018–19 Men's Hockey Series was the inaugural season of the Hockey Series, a field hockey championship for men's national teams. The tournament started in June 2018 and finished in June 2019. Format The Hockey Series was open to all national teams that were not playing in the Pro League. The Hockey Series took place in two rounds, the Open and the Finals. The nine highest-ranked teams in the FIH World Rankings (as of 9 June 2017) skipped the Open and advance directly to the Finals. All other national teams played in the Hockey Series Open, which featured eight regional events with up to six teams each. Fifteen teams qualified from the Hockey Series Open to the FIH Series Finals, for a total of 24 teams in the Finals. Those teams played in three events, with eight teams per event (three automatic qualifiers and five that advanced from the Open). 2016–17 Men's FIH Hockey World League
The 2016–17 Men's FIH Hockey World League was the third edition of the men's field hockey national team league series and last season of the World League. The tournament started in April 2016 in Singapore and finished in December 2017 in Bhubaneswar, India. The Semifinals of this competition will also serve as a qualifier for the 2018 Men's Hockey World Cup as the 10/11 highest placed teams apart from the host nation and the five continental champions qualify. Australia won the tournament's Final round for a record second time after defeating Argentina 2–1 in the final match. India won the third place match by defeating Germany 2–1. From 2019 onwards, the tournament was replaced by Pro League. 2007 Men's Hockey Asia Cup
The 2007 Men's Hockey Asia Cup was the seventh tournament of the Hockey Asia Cup for men. It was held from 31 August – 9 September 2007 in Chennai, India. India won, defeating Korea in the finals, seven goals to two. Korea came in second and Malaysia came third. India led 3-1 at halftime. In the early stages of the second half, Korea staged a walkout led by their coach, because of a decision by the umpire to disallow a goal scored by Korea. In response, India scored a goal through a counterattack in the next minute. Two Korean forwards had continued to argue with the umpire on the disallowed goal. Korea never recovered, while India's forward line scored 3 more goals to make it 7-1 before Korea reduced the margin to 7-2 in the penultimate minute. Baljit Singh, the Indian goalkeeper, was declared the man of the match for his excellent saves.
