Hong Kong Junior Shield
Hong Kong Junior Shield () was a football competition in Hong Kong established in 1922. All teams in the Second Division and the Third Division were included in the competition. South China was the most successful club, winning 9 titles. History Hong Kong Junior Challenge Shield was founded by the Hong Kong Football Association in 1922. The first champion was King's Own Rifles. Athletic, champions of 1927–28, were the first Chinese team to win the Junior Challenge Shield. The Junior Shield was replaced by the Hong Kong FA Cup Preliminary Round after the 2012–13 season, designed to allow lower division clubs to qualify for the tournament proper. The football section of Hong Kong Football Club (Abbreviation: HKFC; ) fields a range of teams at various age divisions in the Hong Kong leagues. The first team currently competes in the Hong Kong Premier League. Sparta Asia Football Club () is a Hong Kong football club currently competing in the Hong Kong Second Division. During the 2008–09 season, it once competed in the top-tier Hong Kong First Division, and was relegated after finishing 12th out of 13 teams. At the end of the 2010–11 season, after gaining promotion to the First Division from the runner-up position in the Second Division, it withdrew from the First Division and was expunged from the Hong Kong league system by the HKFA. IT rejoined the league system and competed in the Fourth Division in the 2012–13 season. In 2015, the Asia football academy of the Dutch Eredivisie club Sparta Rotterdam took charge of the club and it rebranded as Sparta Rotterdam Mutual FC. The partnership ended after 2018. History Fukien Athletic Club was founded in 1925. At the early period, the club was funded by Chinese businessman and philanthropist Tan Kah Kee, who heralded from Fujian, as well as by group of Fujian immigrants. Sai Kung Friends Football Club () is a Hong Kong football club which currently competes in the Hong Kong Third Division. History In 1997–98, they finished third in Hong Kong Second Division, but due to first and second HKFC and Jung Fuk gave up on promotion to Hong Kong First Division. Sai Kung Friends were promoted to Hong Kong First Division for the first time. Although having Brazilian striker, Tomy Adriano Giacomeli on the team, their overall strength was rather weak. Sing Tao Sports Club () is a now defunct Hong Kong football club which was dissolved after the 1998–99 season. The club was established by Aw Hoe (), a director of ''Sing Tao Daily'' in 1940. The first team made their first appearance in the first division in the 1940–41 season. The team relegated to the second division twice, in 1962–63 and 1972–73 seasons respectively. The club turned professional in the 1968–69 season. They were promoted back to the first division again in 1987–88 and stayed until it was dissolved in 1999 by Sing Tao Limited, at that time a subsidiary of Sing Tao Holdings.
