Hong Kong Chinese official football team ( or ) was a football team held by the Chinese Football Association of Hong Kong, a sub-association of the Hong Kong Football Association, the and China National Football Association of Taiwan. It was a feeder team of China national football team (1947–1949) and later Republic of China (Taiwan) from 1949 to 1971. Some players of Hong Kong Chinese also chose to represent Hong Kong national football team instead (official match since 1954); none of the player represented China PR national football team. The team participated in annual , a competition that Chinese from Hong Kong against Western expatriates from Hong Kong, as well as Ho Ho Cup, a competition against Malayan Chinese. Hong Kong Football Association
The Hong Kong Football Association Limited (), often abbreviated to the HKFA, is the governing body of association football in Hong Kong. Its current chairman is Pui Kwan Kay and its Chief Executive Officer is Joaquin Tam. History The HKFA was established in 1914. It is one of the oldest Football Federations in Asia and is responsible for organising various football competitions including professional and amateur leagues, football development and promoting football in Hong Kong. Chinese Taipei Football Association (CTFA) is the governing body for football in the Republic of China (commonly known as Taiwan). Its official name in Chinese is the Republic of China Football Association, but due to the political status of Taiwan it is billed abroad as the "Chinese Taipei Football Association" and uses the English initials TPE on its badge. The CTFA organizes the men's and women's national teams and administers the territory's professional league the Taiwan Football Premier League. As members of East Asian Football Federation its national teams are eligible for the EAFF E-1 Football Championship and the country's membership in AFC allows teams to participate in that organizations club and national team competitions. Chinese Taipei National Football Team
The Chinese Taipei national football team represents Taiwan (the Republic of China) in international football and is controlled by the Chinese Taipei Football Association. Despite never qualifying for the FIFA World Cup, Chinese Taipei, then known as Republic of China, reached the semi-finals of the 1960 and 1968 AFC Asian Cups, finishing third in the former. ''Nanyang Siang Pau'' () was a newspaper in Singapore that was founded by philanthropist-entrepreneur Tan Kah Kee on 6 September 1923. It had a circulation across the Straits Settlement. The newspaper was the first in Southeast Asia to use the duplex unitubular printing machine that could produce 30,000 to 40,000 copies of 24-page newspapers in three colours. Tan sold the press to his son-in-law, Lee Kong Chian, in August 1932. In 1937, the paper saw an expansion with an influx of funds with Lee as the chairman. His brother, George Lee Geok Eng, joined as the managing director, and businessman Tan Lark Sye was also on the board of directors. The paper became a morning and evening daily on 20 November 1937. Hong Kong League XI
The Hong Kong League XI, also known as the Hong Kong XI or Hong Kong League Selection, is a football team which represents the Hong Kong First Division League in exhibition matches, mainly the Lunar New Year Cup. The team is selected from the top players in the Hong Kong First Division League. Both Hong Kong and foreign players, including those from mainland China, can be included in the team. However, as the quality of local players is usually lower, it has been often that most of the outfield players are foreigners. In recent years, to order to enable local footballers to gain more international experience, the Hong Kong Football Association has fielded the Hong Kong national football team in matches which were previously played by the Hong Kong League XI. ''The Sun'' was an Australian afternoon tabloid newspaper, first published under that name in 1910. History ''The Sunday Sun'' was first published on 5 April 1903. In 1910 Hugh Denison founded Sun Newspaper Ltd and took over publication of the old and ailing and ''Australian Star'' and its sister ''Sunday Sun'', appointing Monty Grover as editor-in-chief. The ''Star'' became ''The Sun'', and the ''Sunday Sun'' became ''The Sun: Sunday edition'' on 11 December 1910.
