Craig's Brother is an American punk rock band. They have released three full-length recordings internationally, two on Tooth & Nail Records and one self-released. History Foundation and ''Homecoming'' (1995-2001) In 1995, singer and guitar player for General Handywork Ted Bond got together with Andy Snyder, Scott Hrapoff, and Heath Konkel to pursue a sound that was inspired by Lagwagon and other bands on Fat Wreck Chords. The band name originated from people referring to Scott as "Craig's brother" because of Scott's brother Craig's popularity in high school. After Adam Nigh joined the group in 1997, Craig's Brother signed a contract with the independent label Tooth & Nail Records, and in 1998 the band released their first full-length album ''Homecoming''. The album was recorded at Westbeach Studios in Hollywood, and produced by Donnell Cameron. Melodic Hardcore
Melodic hardcore is a broadly defined subgenre of hardcore punk with a strong emphasis on melody in its guitar work. Skate Punk
Skate punk (also known as skatecore and skate rock) is a skater subculture and punk rock subgenre that developed in the 1980s. Originally a form of hardcore punk that had been closely associated with skate culture, skate punk evolved into a more melodic genre of punk rock in the 1990s similar to pop punk. Tooth & Nail Records is a Christian rock record label founded by Brandon Ebel in California in November 1993. The label later moved to Seattle, Washington where it is situated today. Tooth & Nail's first album released was Wish for Eden's ''Pet the Fish'', which was produced by Michael Knott and originally slated to be released by Blonde Vinyl. Lost At Sea (Craig's Brother Album)
''Lost At Sea'' is Craig's Brother's second full-length album, released on July 17, 2001, their final release with Tooth & Nail Records. The violin part on "Back and Forth" was performed by Sean Mackin from Yellowcard, the band which ex-Craig's Brother member Ryan Key had recently joined. Aftermath The additional cost for the choir during the opening track "Glory" got them into a quarrel with Tooth & Nail, and when a photograph was posted on the band's website gallery of the drummer Juice Cabrera giving the finger to the camera earned them complaints from bookstores operated by The Family, the animosity between the band and the label reached its climax and Craig's Brother were finally dropped by Tooth & Nail Records. The finished album was left unreleased with the company, where it lingered for nearly a year. When it was finally pressed in 2001, the distribution was scarce and the marketing was non-existent.
