George Washington Carver High School Home Economics Building
The George Washington Carver High School Home Economics Building is a historic school building at 900 Pearl Street (between 9th and 10th Streets) in Augusta, Arkansas. It is a single-story L-shaped concrete block structure with a gable roof and modest vernacular styling. Built in 1944 with funding by local subscription, it is the only one of five buildings built between 1917 and 1948 for the education of Augusta's African-American population. The school remained segregated until integration took place in 1970, and has been used since then to house the local Head Start Program. Home Economics Building (Vanderbilt University)
The Home Economics Building on the campus of Vanderbilt University is a historic structure in Nashville, Tennessee. Architecture and design One of the first two buildings built on the new Peabody College campus in 1912, the Home Economics Building (29,588 sq. ft.) is mirrored by its twin the Industrial Arts Building, now called Mayborn Hall. Initially referred to as the Household Arts Building, it was built by the New York firm the Hedden Construction Company and designed by Ludlow and Peabody Architects. It opened for classes in the summer of 1914. Although not as elaborate as the Industrial Arts Building the Home Economics Building does sport marble floors and exterior elements of design that reflect the domestic work for which the building was to be used. The Quitman Home Economics Building is a historic school building on 2nd Avenue in Quitman, Arkansas Quitman is a city in Cleburne and Faulkner counties in the U.S. state of Arkansas. Its population was 762 at the 2010 census. The portion of the city in Faulkner County is part of the Little Rock–North Little Rock– Conway Metropolitan .... It is a single story masonry structure, with walls of fieldstone and brick trim around the openings. The roof is gabled, with exposed rafter ends, and a shed-roof extension over the main entrance, supported by large brackets, all in the Craftsman style. It was built in 1938 with funding from the National Youth Administration. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992. Mulberry Home Economics Building
The Mulberry Home Economics Building is a historic school building in Mulberry, Arkansas. It is a single-story stone and masonry structure, located off West 5th Street behind the current Mulberry High School building. It has a rectangular plan, with a gable-on-hip roof and a projecting gable-roof entry pavilion on the north side near the western end. The pavilion exhibits modest Craftsman styling, with exposed rafters in the roof and arched openings. The south facade has a secondary entrance near the eastern end, and four irregularly sized and spaced window bays to its west. The building was erected in 1939 with funding assistance from the National Youth Administration. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992. The Guy Home Economics Building is a historic school building on the campus of the Guy-Perkins School District, east of Guy, Arkansas. It is a single story stone structure, with a gabled roof that features exposed rafter ends and large Craftsman brackets at the gable ends. A single-story gabled porch, with an arched opening, shelters the main entrance. It was built in 1936 with funding support from the Works Progress Administration.
