Holy Family Roman Catholic Church (Parkdale, Toronto)
Holy Family is a Roman Catholic church in Toronto's west end neighbourhood of Parkdale and within the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Toronto. It has been served since 1979 by clergy of the Oratory of St Philip Neri who also run a seminary from the location. History Although a village since 1879 with two Anglican churches, the wealthy Toronto suburb of Parkdale had few Catholic residents until after amalgamation with Toronto. Holy Family is a private, independent traditionalist Catholic chapel located behind a guarded gate at 30188 W. Mulholland Highway, Agoura Hills, California, United States. It is not affiliated with the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Its 70 or so members are traditional Catholics, including some that hold a sedevacantism position. They reject many or all of the reforms introduced by the Second Vatican Council and worship according to earlier Roman Catholic rites including the Tridentine Mass. The Rev. Holy Family Church was built in 1883 at 1715 Izard Street, at the intersections of 18th and Izard Streets in North Omaha, Nebraska within the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Omaha. It is the oldest existing Catholic Church in Omaha, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. History Holy Family Church was built in 1883 for Irish railroad workers and their families. It was designed by Omaha architects Charles and August Cleves in Gothic Revival and Romanesque Revival Style. The complex includes a parish church, school and rectory. Later, the church served Omaha's growing Italian immigrant community. Priests at Holy Family Church were ultimately responsible for establishing Creighton University in the late 1800s. The Holy Family Catholic Church Historic District, in Natchez, Mississippi, is a historic district that was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1995. Its most significant building is the Holy Family Church, the first African-American Catholic church in the state, dedicated in 1894 and staffed by the Josephites. It is Natchez's best piece of Gothic Revival architecture. The district as a whole is significant for its architecture and for its African-American historical associations. The Church of the Holy Family is a historic Roman Catholic church building in Eveleth, Minnesota, United States. It was built in 1909 by a Slovene Americans, Slovene American congregation and anchored its ethnic community for seventy years. With The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980 for its local significance in the themes of religion and social history. It was nominated for serving as a long-time community anchor for one of Eveleth's major ethnic groups. Eveleth's three ethnic Roman Catholic parishes merged in the late 20th century, first with the historically Irish St. Patrick's church joining the Holy Family congregation in 1968. Holy Family Catholic Church is a parish of the Diocese of Davenport. The parish is the result of a merger between Saints Mary and Joseph Parish and Sacred Heart Parish in the city of Fort Madison, Iowa, United States. It maintains both of the former parish church buildings as worship sites. The oldest parish in town, St. Joseph, and St. Mary of the Assumption had merged in the 1990s. St. Mary of the Assumption Church, which became Saints Mary and Joseph, is located at 11th Street and Avenue E. It was individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. Holy Family Church (North Chicago, Illinois)
Holy Family Church is a historic church at 1840 Lincoln Street in North Chicago, Illinois. The church was built in 1914-15 for North Chicago's Roman Catholic congregation, which was formed in 1901. Architect William F. Gubbins designed the Late Gothic Revival church. The church's design includes a front-facing gable with a large stained glass window, pointed arch windows, and a square bell tower with large louvered windows, all typical features of Gothic Revival architecture. The Catholic congregation used the church until 1991; it is now occupied by the Emmanuel Faith Bible Christian Center. The Church of the Holy Family (''French'': ''Église de la Sainte-Famille'') is a Roman Catholic church located at 116 Church Street in the St. Clair County, Illinois city of Cahokia Heights. Built beginning in 1786, it is a remarkably unaltered example of the French colonial construction style known as "poteaux-sur-solle" (post-on-sill), and one of the few such buildings surviving in North America. It was declared a National Historic Landmark and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1970. The occupying congregation is the oldest continuously active Catholic Parish in the United States, having been founded in 1699 by Canadian missionaries, and the oldest church west of the Allegheny Mountains. Church of the Holy Family is a Roman Catholic church in Chicago, Illinois. It is the second-oldest Catholic church in Chicago. It is one of the few structures that survived the Great Chicago Fire. The Church of the Holy Family is a Catholic Church located in Downtown Columbus, Georgia that was built in 1880. The Catholic church in Columbus had outgrown its original church built in 1829. The church's architect/builder, Daniel Matthew Foley, had designed 16 other churches before coming to Columbus to design this church. It is the only Gothic Revival church in Columbus and "is an architectural as well as religious anchor point in the community."
