Holy Cross Catholic Academy
Holy Cross Catholic Academy (or Holy Cross) is a Catholic high school. It was first established in September 1986 to serve western Woodbridge, a community in Vaughan, Ontario, Canada. The school currently serves grades nine through twelve (ages 14 – 18). In 1990, the school celebrated its first graduating class. Archbishop Robert Clune blessed the building on May 2, 1990. The school's tenth anniversary was inaugurated with the planting of a tree at the front of the school, which is marked by way of a metal plaque. Holy Cross Catholic High School was converted to a Catholic Academy in 1998 due to pressures from the Ontario government (Mike Harris' Conservative government) to enhance education in technical development. St. Augustine's High School, established in 1969, is a Roman Catholic secondary school serving the west of Edinburgh, Scotland, with approximately 700 pupils. History St. Augustine's RC High School was founded in August 1969. It was created on the Comprehensive School model by the merger of two existing Catholic schools: Holy Cross Academy, a selective secondary school which was established in 1907, and the non-selective St Andrew's Junior Secondary, which opened in 1962. Holy Cross Academy was a Catholic school in Kendale Lakes census-designated place, unincorporated Miami-Dade County, Florida. It was in the West Kendall area, Page 2/ref> near Kendall. It was owned and operated independently of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. It incorporated a monastery. It had a campus and served grades kindergarten through 12. History Reverend Abbott Gregory Wendt established the school in 1985. It started as an institution affiliated with the Ruthenian Greek Catholic Church. Its accreditation records circa 2004, however, described it as an independent Catholic institution. Prior to 2001 the average enrollment was about 500. On March 25, 2001, Ukrainian Mykhaylo Kofel murdered nun-in-training Michelle Lewis; authorities discovered her body in the convent house on campus.
