It was broadcast on CBS January 6, 1946 – March 27, 1947. Format A newspaper article announcing the debut of ''Hollywood Star Time'' described it as "featuring big-name movie talent and hit films." ''Hollywood Star Time'' was a radio interview program in the United States. It was initially broadcast on 20 Pacific Coast and Rocky Mountain stations beginning February 28, 1944. Later the 15-minute program was carried nationwide on the Blue Network May 29, 1944 – November 24, 1944. Format Originating in the commissary at RKO Pictures in Hollywood, ''Hollywood Star Time'' was promoted in a newspaper advertisement on its second day as "the kind of show you'd never expect in daytime ... surprise guest stars doing impromptu songs and comedy bits." Besides interviews with movie stars, episodes included "orchestras, vocalists and other entertainers," according to an ad in a movie trade publication. The Screen Guild Theater
''The Screen Guild Theater'' is a radio anthology series broadcast from 1939 until 1952 during the Golden Age of Radio. Leading Hollywood stars performed adaptations of popular motion pictures. Originating on CBS Radio, it aired under several different titles including ''The Gulf Screen Guild Show'', ''The Gulf Screen Guild Theater'', ''The Lady Esther Screen Guild Theater'' and ''The Camel Screen Guild Players''. Fees that would ordinarily have been paid to the stars and studios were instead donated to the Motion Picture Relief Fund, and were used for the construction and maintenance of the Motion Picture Country House. John Dunning (detective Fiction Author)
John Dunning (born January 9, 1942) is an American writer of non-fiction and detective fiction. He is known for his reference books on old-time radio and his series of mysteries featuring Denver bookseller and ex-policeman Cliff Janeway. Life Born in Brooklyn, New York in 1942, Dunning moved to his father's hometown of Charleston, South Carolina, at the age of three. In 1964 he left his parents' home and moved to Denver, Colorado, where, after a time working as a stable hand at a horse racing track, he got a job at ''The Denver Post''. In 1970 he left the newspaper and took up writing novels, while pursuing a variety of jobs.
