Holkhomang Haokip is an veteran Indian politician, who was minister in various Manipur governments and a Member of Parliament during the 13th Lok Sabha. Haokip was first elected as a member of the Manipur Legislative Assembly in 1972. He was a Member of Consultative Committee, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India from 2000–2004. Kamjong ( Meitei pronunciation: /kām-jōng/) is the headquarter of Kamjong district, Manipur state, India. The village is about 120 kilometers from Imphal and is connected by Ukhrul-Kamjong State highway. Kuki People
The Kuki people are an ethnic group native to the Mizo Hills (formerly Lushai), a mountainous region in the southeastern part of Mizoram and Manipur in India. The Kuki constitute one of several hill tribes within India, Bangladesh, and Myanmar. In Northeast India, they are present in all states except Arunachal Pradesh.
