Hittite Cuisine
The Hittites have left a good number of texts detailing the preparation of food and many Hittite laws to stipulate how certain food is to be prepared, cooked, and served. The main ingredients of Hittite cuisine were dairy products, meat, grain products, and other natural products such as honey. Hittites loved bread and had recipes for as many as 180 types of bread in different shapes and with varying ingredients. Food eaten in Anatolia is a continuation of the Hittite cuisine as stated in the book "Hittite Cuisine" published by Alpha Publishing (08-2008) in Turkey. Some cities have preserved the Hittite food traditions. Adana, a major city in southeast Turkey (Adaniya in Hittite in the former Neo-Hittite, Luwian Kizzuwadna region) is famous for its kebabs, and according to studies Hittite cuisine contained a strong element of meat skewer (Shish Kebab). Hittites
The Hittites () were an Anatolian people who played an important role in establishing first a kingdom in Kussara (before 1750 BC), then the Kanesh or Nesha kingdom (c. 1750–1650 BC), and next an empire centered on Hattusa in north-central Anatolia (around 1650 BC). This empire reached its height during the mid-14th century BC under Šuppiluliuma I, when it encompassed an area that included most of Anatolia as well as parts of the northern Levant and Upper Mesopotamia. Between the 15th and 13th centuries BC, the Empire of Hattusa—in modern times conventionally called the Hittite Empire—came into conflict with the New Kingdom of Egypt, the Middle Assyrian Empire and the empire of Mitanni for control of the Near East. Hittite University
Hitit University ( tr, Hitit Üniversitesi) is a university in Çorum, Turkey, founded in 2006. The university was affiliated to Gazi University before splitting into an independent university, with existing educational units affiliated to this newly founded university in 2006. Hitit University comprises three institutes, eight faculties, two schools and seven vocational schools.
