History Of Universitatea Craiova (football)
Universitatea Craiova () was a professional football club based in Craiova, Dolj County, Romania. Between 1948 and 1991, Universitatea won four national titles and five national cups. In addition to their domestic success, their reputation as a major club in the country was established by being the first Romanian team to reach the semi-finals of a UEFA tournament and remain the only one to have knocked out at least one club from each of five strongest countries in European football—England, France, Germany, Italy and Spain. It acted as a football section for the ''CSU Craiova'' sports club of which it was part of until 1991, when its berth in the league championship was taken by FC U Craiova following a privatisation scheme. The Liga Profesionistă de Fotbal (''Professional Football League''), also known by its acronym LPF, is a Romanian governing body that runs the Liga I, the top professional division of the Romanian football league system. FCM Câmpina was a Romanian football team from Poiana Câmpina, Prahova County founded in 1936 and dissolved in 2008. History The team was founded under the name ''Astra Câmpina'', which was a local factory that was sponsoring the team. Later the team changed its name to ''Poiana Câmpina''. Even though the team is now called FCM Câmpina (Municipal Football Club Câmpina), most of its fans still call the team "Poiana" or "Poieniţa", a diminutive. Furthermore, FCM Câmpina used to be, for a couple of years, Dinamo Bucharest's second team, and was back then called Dinamo Poiana Câmpina. FCM Târgoviște
Fotbal Club Municipal Târgoviște (), commonly known as FCM Târgoviște, was a Romanian football team based in Târgoviște, Dâmbovița County, founded in 1948 and disbanded in 2018. FCM Târgoviște, which throughout history bore several other names, amassed nine appearances in the Divizia A, the highest tier of the Romanian league system, and their best result in the competition was finishing seventh in the 1978–79 campaign. Asociația Clubul Sportiv Campionii Fotbal Club Argeș, commonly known as FC Argeș or Argeș Pitești (), is a Romanian professional football club based in the city of Pitești, Argeș County, which competes in the Liga I. Chimia Râmnicu Vâlcea was a football club based in Râmnicu Vâlcea, Vâlcea County, Romania. It was founded in 1946 and dissolved in 2004. It won one Romanian Cup, in 1973. History In 1946 ''Vâlceana'' appeared in the Third Division. In 1947 it changed its name to ''CSM Vâlcea''. The club is relegated and only in 1956 succeeds to return again under the name of ''Flamura Roşie'', the name being changed the next year to ''Unirea'' and in 1958 to ''Şantierul Govora''. It is relegated again, but after one year, the team jumped directly to the Second Division under the name of ''Chimia Govora''. The Liga 3, most often spelled as Liga III, is the third level of the Romanian football league system. Its name was changed from Divizia C to Liga III before the start of the 2006–07 season. Nicolae Oțeleanu
Nicolae Pascu Oțeleanu (6 January 1908 - 5 May 1970) was a Romanian football defender and manager and also a World War II veteran. Life and career Nicolae Oțeleanu played football as a defender at Sparta București, Sportul Studențesc București and Sporting Chişinău. He fought for the Romanian Armed Forces in World War II as a lieutenant colonel having achievements for which he was decorated. In 1953 he became a manager, managing to be the first manager that promoted Universitatea Craiova to the second division in 1954 and later to the first division in 1964. He was also the first manager that promoted Electroputere Craiova to the second division in 1968. The Liga 2, most often spelled as Liga II, is the second level of the Romanian football league system. The league changed its name from Divizia B just before the start of the 2006–07 Liga II, 2006–07. It is currently Sponsor (commercial), sponsored by Casa Pariurilor, a betting company with the official name Liga 2 Casa Pariurilor. Format Divisions Since its inception in 1934, Liga II had between 2 and 9 parallel divisions, with clubs divided based on geographic regions. Generally, Seria I included eastern teams while Seria II included western sides, although clubs near the center of the country are allowed to choose in which series they will compete.
