Hotel Tryp Habana Libre is one of the larger hotels in Cuba, situated in Vedado, Havana. The hotel has 572 rooms in a 25-floor tower at Calle 23 ("La Rampa") and Calle L. Opened in 1958 as the Habana Hilton, the hotel famously served as the residence of Fidel Castro and other revolutionaries throughout 1959, after their capture of Havana. The London Hilton on Park Lane is a hotel situated on Park Lane, overlooking Hyde Park in the exclusive Mayfair district of London. It is tall, has 28 storeys and 453 rooms including 56 suites and a Michelin starred restaurant Galvin at Windows on the top floor of the hotel. History The hotel opened as the London Hilton on 17 April 1963. It is a concrete-framed building, designed by William B. Tabler, an American architect who designed numerous Hilton hotels. The building was the first skyscraper hotel to be built in London, containing more than 500 bedrooms and six restaurants. The Cactus Hotel, previously known as the Hilton Hotel, is a historic hotel in downtown San Angelo, Texas. The hotel was built in 1929 and added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 20, 1984. Site The hotel stands at 36 E. Twohig, on the northwest corner of Twohig and Oakes, in downtown San Angelo, Texas. History In 1919, entrepreneur Conrad Hilton established a hotel chain that he began rapidly expanding across Texas in the 1920s. He constructed the Dallas Hilton in 1924–25, then identified several West Texas cities, including San Angelo, to open hotels in. The construction of the Dallas Hilton had exceeded Hilton's budget, however, and he sought partnerships to limit future expenses in the construction of future hotels.
