High Tide (2024 Film)
''High Tide'' is a 2024 American romantic drama film written and directed by Marco Calvani and starring Marco Pigossi, James Bland, Marisa Tomei, Bill Irwin and Mya Taylor. Plot Heartbroken and adrift, undocumented Brazilian immigrant Lourenço (Marco Pigossi) searches for purpose in the queer mecca of Provincetown while awaiting the return of his distant American lover, Joe, the one person who offers him a glimpse of a brighter future. As summer's warmth begins to fade, Lourenço encounters Maurice (James Bland), a charismatic African American nurse on a fleeting holiday with his boisterous and carefree friends. Despite their vastly different backgrounds, the two men find a common bond in their shared feelings of alienation and loneliness in a country they struggle to call their own. Marco Calvani (born 11 December 1980) is an Italian playwright, director, filmmaker, translator and actor. Biography Trained as an actor since he was a teenager, Calvani made his debut as a playwright in 2002 with ''Quasi'', commissioned by the European Social Forum. ''Strong Hands'' was his first play to be translated and performed to great acclaim throughout Europe. Marco Fábio Maldonado Pigossi (born 1 February 1989) is a Brazilian actor and producer. He is known for playing Dylan on the Australian television series ''Tidelands,'' and for playing Eric in the Brazilian series '' Invisible City''. Career Pigossi started in the theater at the age of 13, when he decided to take a class out of curiosity and was charmed, at 17 he graduated.
