High1 Resort
High1 (하이원, ''haiwon'') Resort is a ski resort in Jeongseon, South Korea. Owned by the public corporation of Kangwon Land, it was developed to revitalize the declining mining towns of Gohan and Sabuk. The resort opened in December 2006. It is one of the largest ski resorts in South Korea along with Yongpyong Resort and Muju Resort. High1 has three tops named High1 Top, Valley Top and Mountain Hub. High1 Top and Mountain Hub are served by a gondola. Valley Top is the highest point of the resort at an elevation of above sea level. Valley Top is located just below the north of the summit of the Baegun Mountain which has an elevation of above sea level. Hihou (하이하우, ''haihau''), a white hound is the mascot of the resort. Gohan-eup
Gohan-eup ( ko, 고한읍) is a town in Jeongseon County, Gangwon Province, South Korea, and the county seat of the county of Jeongseon. The town has a surface area of 52.32 km2 (20.2 mi2) and a population of 9,940. It is located in the far southeast of Jeongseon County and is the southernmost town in the county. It is neighbored by Sabuk-eup in the north. Jeongseon
Jeongseon (''Jeongseon-gun'') is a county in the province of Gangwon-do, South Korea. It is famous as the hometown of "Jeongseon Arirang," a traditional Korean folksong. It is also the hometown of actor Won Bin and footballer Seol Ki-hyeon. Gangwon-do (South Korea)
Gangwon Province is a province of South Korea, with its capital at Chuncheon. Kangwon Land (hangul:강원랜드) is a South Korean casino and resort company based in Gangwon Province, South Korea. The Company develops abandoned mines, and builds gaming and entertainment facilities. Kangwon Land operates a number of game tables and slot machines for domestic and international customers under its gaming licenses. Yongpyong Resort
Yongpyong (Dragon Valley) Ski Resort is a ski resort in South Korea, located in Daegwallyeong-myeon, Pyeongchang, Gangwon-do. It is the largest ski and snowboard resort in Korea, and offers golf in the summer months. A 1949 news article covered a ski slope in Daegwallyeong, which had only the ski slope at that time. Yongpyong's first ski lift was built in 1975. In 1981, a Korean company called Ssangyong Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd bought the owner(유국개발) of Yongpyong Resort, and in turn obtained the resort. SsangYong began to experience financial difficulties from the 1997 Asian financial crisis. In 2003, Segye Ilbo, which is owned by the Unification Church, bought Yongpyong Resort. Muju Resort
Muju Resort (무주리조트), officially Muju Deogyusan Resort (무주덕유산리조트) is a ski resort in Muju, South Korea. It is located on the north face of the Seolcheon Peak at an elevation of above sea level on the Deogyu Mountain. Also located in the Deogyu Mountain National Park, it is the only ski resort in South Korea situated in national park. The resort is one of the largest ski resorts in South Korea. It has the second-highest vertical drop in South Korea after the 2018 Winter Olympic downhill slopes and the highest vertical drop of the commercial resorts. Taebaek Line
Taebaek Line is a single-track electrified railway mainline connecting Jecheon station to Baeksan station in South Korea. At its two ends, the Taebaek Line connects to the Jungang Line and Yeongdong Line. The line was originally two spur lines, which were built across difficult mountainous terrain in stages, before a connection was built.
