''Hey Hey it's Saturday'' was a British children's Saturday morning television programme that aired on the breakfast television channel TV-am. Based on the Australian Saturday morning/night television programme of the same name, it ran from July 1990 until September 1991. The programme was produced by Clear Idea Productions. It was presented alternately by Timmy Mallett, Tommy Boyd, Mike Brosnan and Michaela Strachan. It was a replacement for ''WAC '90'', which was previously known as the ''Wide Awake Club'', and it was replaced by ''TV Mayhem''. Timmy Mallett
Timothy Luke Mallett (born 18 October 1955) is an English TV presenter, broadcaster, and artist. He is known for his striking visual style, colourful glasses, loud shirts, and giant pink foam mallet, known as "Mallett's Mallet", as well as his "utterly brilliant!" and "blaaah!" catchphrases. Career Radio Mallett was born in Marple, Cheshire. His media career started while he was a student at the University of Warwick where he worked on the student radio station, Radio Warwick. After graduating with a degree in History he started working at BBC Radio Oxford. He later moved to Centre Radio (now Leicester Sound) as the station's launch presenter. He also presented on Radio Luxembourg and Manchester's Piccadilly Radio. The programme he hosted at Piccadilly was ''Timmy on the Tranny'', a weekday evening show that ran from 8.00pm–11.00pm and took its name from Mallett's lunchtime and later afternoon shows on Radio Oxford. ''Dink, the Little Dinosaur'' is an American animated series created by Karen Willson and Chris Weber, produced by Ruby-Spears Enterprises. The series originally aired as part of CBS's Saturday morning line-up from 1989 to 1990. Plot The series followed Dink, a dinosaur, and his four friends as they explore and dwell in the volcanic landscape of prehistory in a place called Green Meadow. Designed to help children navigate the world of friendship and making friends, the stories fostered positive behaviors such as caring about oneself and others, tolerance, ecology, problem-solving and teamwork.
