Heusden-Zolder
Heusden-Zolder (; li, Heuze-Zolder ) is a Municipalities of Belgium, municipality located in the Belgium, Belgian Limburg (Belgium), province of Limburg near Hasselt. On 1 January 2006 Heusden-Zolder had a total population of 30,769. The total area is 53.23 km² which gives a population density of 578 inhabitants per km². Heusden-Zolder was the result of the merger on 1 January 1977 of the two former municipalities of Heusden and Zolder, and currently consists of the former Heusden parishes of Heusden centre, Berkenbos and Eversel, and the former Zolder parishes of Zolder centre, Boekt, Viversel, Bolderberg and Lindeman. Heusden-Zolder is home to almost 2,000 Immigration, immigrants from all over the world. This is due to the (now closed) coal mine of Zolder. The Saint-Francis Hospital (Dutch/Flemish: ''Sint-Franciscusziekenhuis'') is a hospital located in the municipality of Heusden-Zolder in the province of Limburg (Belgium), Flanders, Belgium. History The Saint-Francis Hospital was founded by the congregation of the from Zoutleeuw on 20 October 1925 when the head of the Franciscan order in Heusden-Zolder asked for a hospital for the local miners. This is how the hospital got its name. The construction of the hospital started in 1927 and in that same year, the hospital was able to take care of 30 people. An operating room, a pharmacy and a washhouse were added in 1928. In 1932, a room for radiodiagnosis was added. During World War II, in 1941, the hospital was extended with another hall that could fit 30 patients, as well as a delivery room. The Circuit Zolder, also known as Circuit Terlamen, is an undulating motorsport race track in Heusden-Zolder, Belgium. History Built in 1963, Zolder hosted the Formula One Belgian Grand Prix on 10 separate occasions in the 1970s and 1980s, as well as the 1980 Belgian motorcycle Grand Prix. F1 moved to Zolder in 1973 and with the exception of a race at Nivelles-Baulers in 1974, Zolder was the location of the Belgian Grand Prix until 1982. That year, Canadian driver Gilles Villeneuve was killed during qualifying at the 1982 Belgian Grand Prix. Villeneuve's Ferrari 126 C#126C2 (1982), Ferrari 126C2 collided at speed with the March 821 of Jochen Mass. The 2007 Belgian Champ Car Grand Prix was the eleventh round of the 2007 season of the Champ Car World Series. It was held on August 26, 2007 at Circuit Zolder in Heusden-Zolder, Belgium. The race was won by Sébastien Bourdais, and it was his sixth victory of the season. Eversel
Eversel is a village in Heusden that is part of the municipality of Heusden-Zolder, Belgium. It is located in the northwestern corner of the municipality. Eversel is also a Roman Catholic parish established in 1839. The local Roman Catholic church is dedicated to Saint James the Greater (Sint-Jacobus de Meerdere) and was inaugurated on 5 September 1849. The nearby parish house is named ''Sint-Baaf'' after Saint Bavo. Historically Eversel is a part of Houweiken that was part of the fiefdom of Vogelzang. Although a part of Heusden, the dialect of Eversel tends to be closer to that of Beringen. Barthélemy Théodore, Count de Theux de Meylandt (26 February 1794 – 21 August 1874) was a Belgian Roman Catholic politician who served as the prime minister of Belgium three times. Approximately long, it connects the Belgian university city of Leuven with Aachen, Charlemagne's capital during the early ninth century, and today a bustling commercial centre in Germany's North Rhine-Westphalia.
